Funk E, thanks

(This is from a Q&A about vampires found at : http://www.altvampyres.net/newsgroup/faq/traditional.shtml#2.02)

- Repelled/harmed by religious symbols. This appears to be a subject of great debate. A very prevalent belief, is the symbol itself is useless unless the wielder possesses a strong faith in the efficacy of the symbol, as a despoiler of evil. As such, the symbol is just the vehicle for the faith of its holder, and the actual symbol need not be religious. There is a movie in which a yuppie dispels a vampire by holding up his wallet! Apparently, his faith in money was enough that he could harm the vampire. Again, it was the faith and not the symbol that mattered.

I just like to know what movie was this from???

Might have been A POLISH VAMPIRE IN BURBANK but I'm not positive.

Sounds like something I would expect in LOVE AT FIRST BITE but I don't remember actually seeing the scene.
"May I offer you a Peek Frean?" - Walter Bishop
"Thank you for appreciating my descent into deviant behavior, Mr. Reese." - Harold Finch

Drawing a blank on this.  Seen an athiest vampire held off by a law symbol in the book I Am Legend -- and I don't recall a similar scene the movie version, Last Man on Earth.  Seen a Jewish vampire shrug off a cross in The Fearless Vampire Killers.  Even seen a children's book that suggests throwing an old dime at vampire to see if the silver freaks it out.

However, an Internet serach reveals that the passage quoted has been, uh,  "restated" a remarkable number of times without a reference cited.
