Horror Chamber of Dr. Faustus

What does anybody know about this film? I saw it for sale at a used video store for $7.50 in a clamshell case (not original release I don't think) and I've been wondering if it would be a goof idea to pick this one up. Reviews suggest it's a very artistic film, filmed in black and white, and with some gruesome gore scenes. But I haven't seen it in any way whatsoever, so I would appreciate some comments and suggestions. Thanks!
