QuoteFans who haven't gotten over the demise of the short-lived, live-action "Tick" TV show (me being one of them) now have a chance to bring back the big blue arachnid.

Sony Pictures and Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment are conducting a consumer poll to decide which TV shows to release on DVD. "The Tick" is a contender (along with 31 other hopefuls) for a full-season DVD release.

C2F urges all Tick fans to yell "Spooon" and then click over to the poll and stuff the ballot box with righteousness. (Yelling "Spoon" is optional).

Spoooon!

Silver Spoons, The Nanny?  I think I'm going to be sick.

Mr_Vindictive

Sorry Squishy, but The Tick was third on my list.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Well, at least it's ON the list. I posted the quote before I even visited the poll. After "Tick," I picked "The Critic," "NewsRadio," (and just to fill out the slots and for historical reference) "Soap," and "Barney Miller."

I also see Werewolf.  Liked that old Fank Lupo series.

(Cripes, how much spam am I gonna get when I submit THIS one....)

I have never even watched the Tick, but I went to the poll anyways.  I voted for it, number 5, becuz I knew it was beloved by many.  And nobody wants to see a friggin Who's the Boss dvd set (except the Alyssa lovers).  I also voted for the Critic, Square Pegs, Parker Lewis can't lose, and Dilbert.

Good News...And D'Oh News:

QuoteSpooon! The fans have spoken and Sony listened. C2F told you yesterday how you could vote to have "The Tick" released on DVD. Well, it turns out the poll we pointed you to was old. The results had already been tallied and reported a few weeks back.

TVShowsOnDVD.com reports that "The Tick," "Soap," "Newsradio" and "Dilbert" were among the winners. Those shows are said to be slated for the DVD release later this year.

Thanks to Armand (who wants a Guardians of the Galaxy movie) for pointing us straight.
--Comics2Film.com...again.

So, while our votes didn't actually do any good, "The Tick" (and others) made it! I continue to hold hope for "The Critic"....

Andrew

The thing is, I want the cartoon, not the live action show!  Darn it!

I've never seen the live action show and only saw one episode of the cartoon.

The one I saw though was hilarious!

The Tick and an enemy(I forget which one) went and fought up on the roof because otherwise the landlord would take any damages they caused out of the security deposit!

raj

Same here.  Cartoon Network, are you listening?  Probably not.  They'll more likely come up with a new Underdog, and ruin it.

Squishy

"Underdog's back, and he's got a badass 'TOOD, DOOD!!! And plenty of graphic urination gags! Look out, b***hes! It's "The Ass-Spankin' New Adventures of ÜBERDOGG!" Friday afternoons on Cartoon ****ing Network!!"

I'm not being serious (der), I was just tickled by Raj's post.

The "Tick" cartoon was wonderful...at least the audio was. I used to dream that one day, someone would completely redo the substandard (even for TV) animation and put it back on the air...but with cult status for the live-action version now official, that makes two successes--and makes "The Tick" more or less culturally immortal. He will return to TV someday.

(Some episodes of the cartoon are available on VHS. Amazon.com offers "Tick Vs. Arthur," and you can still dig up "Idea Men" there too... And there's always the comics.)

"Leonardo da Vinci And His Howling Crimefighting Commandoes"is a classic.

Not to change the subject, but is this thread non-word wrapped for anyone else? It's like 3 screen wide for me.
