It contains one of my pet peeves . . . everyone has high-tech, futuristic gadgets coming out of their ying-yangs, yet they sometimes use torches to provide lighting! That could be a bad-movie sub-genre . . . movies where people have beam weapons and stuff, but they ride horses and carry torches . . .

There are films where that have done this and ti worked logically.

Both Oblivion films did that and they worked well.

I do see your point though, that can get annoying when they were just using the device they needed five minutess ago!
