Film previews that actually looked good

I am not sure if all theaters show the same previews of upcoming movies or if they show different ones.

But during Freddy-vs-Jason they showed three that actually looked half way decent and might actually get a view from me.

Underworld-- Lichens vs Vampires... interesting idea, looked dark and full of good suspense. It kinda reminded me of the way Romeo and Juliet had to fight to be in love.

The Order-- a priest helping to investigate religious murders just looked interesting

Texas Chainsaw Massacre-- I truely loved the original and do not wish any disrespect, but I was shocked at how close they kept to the original. I mean the guy running through the sheets and the house and the grainy look of being an older made film. Jennifer Beal- not too sure if she was gonna work out- since playing a ministers daughter in Seventh Heaven- but she seemed to do pretty good. I kinda thought i was back in the theater when it first came out and shocked people.

Good Job, hope I will not be disappointed.

i really liked the preview that i've seen for Underworld, but i think it was more of a teaser, since it didn't mention the whole love story thing [i found that out on my own]  however i'm really scepctical about that movie.  i like the whole blade-type battle of the demons type thing, but if it plays out too much like romeo and juliet i'm not going to like it.  hopefully it will have plenty of action, a few surprises and be kept very dark.

haven't seen anything about the other two, but have heard many a good thing about TCM and i hope that it is great

Callysto, I was just getting ready to make a post about this.  You beat me to it.  :o)

CABIN FEVER!

That's all I need to say.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

I am so sorry I didn't mean to spoil your fun.

Yes, Cabin Fever is looking pretty good too!

I don't know about TCM.  I mean Tobe Hoopers movie was perfect, it was original, dark, and violent without much in the way of gore.  The only choices for a remake are to follow the original to a tee (so what's the point), or to change certain things, and this usually ends up making things worse.

The remake I'm truly dreading is Dawn Of The Dead.  I mean come on, Romers vision was perfect, and at the time it was made had alot to say about consumption and consumerism.  Too boot a theatrical R rated release could never be as intense as Romero's classic.  More over, Romero's direction was perfect, leaving me to ask - why a remake?

I watched the TCM trailer and can't help but the notice that the teens don't sound like they're from Texas..they sound like they're from the West Coast, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!!!? I mean it seems like almost all the time the Media never has people with Easern or Southern U.S. accents on t.v. it's always West Coast!!! Sorry the trailer put me in a bad mood.

I sorta though that every time a southern or eastern accent was present, it was pretty over the top and cliched, without much subtely or individual character

Yeah that's sounds right to me. I'm saying that people who are Southern or Eastern ofter are sterotyped as stupid or evil, which isn't true.

THE ORDER looks like it could be interesting, except that the main characters are in their early twenties for some reason.  I would expect a Vatican researcher to be a bit older.

And, ah, it's Jessica Biel in the TCM remake, not Jennifer Beals.  Although that could be interesting.  Her character could wear big leg warmers and flashdance Leatherface into submission in an all out dance-a-thon.  Now if they could only get Jimmy Carter to come in and do some of his comedy breakdancing, then they'd have a hit on our hands.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

I saw the preview for House of the Dead, I don't really know what to think of it. I mean a part of me was like this movie will be cool but, when they showed some of the action scenes I was like oh man is this gonna suck.

You know it's another video-game-to-movie translation, right?

Just saw F vs. J, and MAN DID IT ROCK!

Anyway, on to the previews:

Underworld:  Could be good, but it seems like they may be trying too hard... the action seems forced... like they're trying to look like Blade or the Matrix.  Like, I was thinking "this is ok..." til they showed the slo mo of her stepping through a puddle or something.. very unneeded.

House of the dead:  WTF is going on... The scene where the person jumps in the air and shoots the shotgun in slow-motion matrix-esque mode was hilariously stupid... the shot first came out as one big bullet, and then split into the buckshot...CRAPFEST... but it might be b-movie fun...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre:  I saw the second movie again over the summer... this could be a great movie if they do it right.
