Ever Had the Theater to Yourself?

Have you ever gone to see a film at the theater and you or you and a friend were the only one/s there?

My friend Chris & I went to see "Eraser" at the 1:00pm showing and we were the only one's in the theater!  (this was after it had been out for awhile)

After about a half hour he pulled his pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and offered me one.

I said, "What the hell"  and took one.

We lit up and enjoyed the film all to ourselves!  (I no longer smoke cigarettes...I smoke Phillies Black Max cigars with the plastic tips for 2 years now)

Not one person who worked there entered the room to walk down to the front to check the theater so we never got busted smoking there.
Have you ever gone to see a film and you had the theater all to yourself?

If so...which film was it?

My wife and I watched "Judge Dredd" alone. Sad thing was, it was the first showing on the day it was released.

BTW, I actually liked that film...

The Sheckster!

Yep, heres the movies I rememeber being alone in..

Ravenous (opening day too!)
Willard (the new Crispin Glover version)
Gangs of New York (I saw it weeks after it had already been out, plus it was midnight during the week)

There might have been some others, but those are the only ones that come to mind right now.

Virtuosity - matinee during the first week it opened
Primal Fear - had been out a while
The Game - out a while
The Big Lebowski - nearly to myself, three stoners walked in five minutes after it started and sat behind me. Wouldn't shut up especially the dumbest and loudest of the three who was so proud he got the pronunciation of "Jesus" right, when he read the name off the character's shirt. His buddies figured it was pronounced "hay-zeus" like the traditional Spanish pronunciation. Idiots.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind - I may have had the theater to myself on this one, but I'm not sure. No more than five people at the most, late show on a weeknight.

A girl I was dating at the time had the theater to ourselves watching "Fear and Loathing in LAs Vegas"  What a trip. I was even able to smoke a couple of bowls of some kind herbage in there.

Ernest Goes to Jail-Completely alone for that movie for some odd reason

Neon Noodle

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Striking Distance.

Neville

Sure, plenty of times, but it has become more usual after they built this big multi-place on the other end of my town. Last time this happened to me, it was with "We were soldiers". I didn't understand it at all, because it was a friday night, but then the movie started and all my doubts had an answer. The movie sucked biiiig time!

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I've never been alone in a theater! But there have been numerous times where I thought I was going to be alone and then just before the movie starts a few people walk in.

I think halloween h20 was the only time I had the theater to myself- I don't blame people for not going to this one though at the time, gag...

I luv dolma

Yeah,  when I went to see "The Rocketeer" remember that old Disney film by Joe Johnston. He did other films like Jurassic Park 3 and Jumanji.

BoyScoutKevin

Yeah. The last time it was for "Whalerider." The one about the Maoris of New Zealand. Late showing, middle of the week, after it had been out for a week. Still, too bad. It was a great movie.

mr. henry

yeah. i was the only one waiting for the movie to start. i fell asleep and woke up an hour later. no one ever started the damned movie!!!!

I was in a theater by myself when I was 11 watching a matinee of HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS.  Imagine that.

Thing was the theater only had two screens and the other screen was WITCHES OF EASTWICK.  I think besides the people working (maybe or two or three guys), I was the only one in the entire building.
