SciFi original Absolon

Did anyone watch this movie tonight? It's about a future where everyone has been infected with a virus and they hve to take the drug Absolon every day to live. Some people are working on  cure, but the guy who controls the drug doesn't want a cure found.

I missed the earlier showing, so I have it on now. It's decent I guess and there's even a scene with Christopher Lambert spoofing a scene from the original Highlander.

One weird thing though; Everytime it shows a closeup of someone or something, anything black in the scene looks like it has static running through it. Kind of like the effect on the show Automan. Did anyone else notice this?
