Flesh Gordon II (1989)

FLESH GORDON (1989) Well I passed this one by the shelve long enough, so I decided to rent it tonight. Fun film for what it was. Favorite parts are the claymation creatures at the beginning, astoroids, turds, and octopus. Well if you rent it you'll have fun.

Which is better the 1974 version or this 1989 one?

I think what saved this movie was the energy everyone had.  Master Bator displayed a mastery of overacting.

The original is still raunchy.  In fact, it plays much like a silly porn film at times.  However, the sequel was definitely more of an icky movie at times - the turd people and the giant gay alien are foremost in my mind in that respect.

"Flesh Gordon" also has some pretty good stop motion, courtesy of Dave Allen of all people.

True Andrew the actors were very enthusiastic in this one. It really helped carry this type of film.

I still enjoy this one, its crude and unflattering but it is fun none the less. I always like to chip people's teeth to B-movies with this cheesy schlock.
