Am I the only person who finds Mike Myers horribly unfunny? All his horrible Austin Powers and Shrek movies make me want to vomit.

For what it's worth, you are not the only one.  I didn't used to feel that way, and I still think that in a 5-7 minute skit there are few who are as funny as Myers.  But over the length of a movie (Hell, in the case of Austin Powers that would be the length of three movies) he is painful to watch.

Shrek sucked, I agree.

As far as Cat in the Hat goes, I am treating it as I treat Jim Carrey's (one person who is LESS funny than Myers) Grinch movie: basically, I refuse to acknowledge the existence of either film.

I would rather watch the 1971 animated half-hour film again.  And regarding the newest Grinch offering, my teenage daughter saw it with a friend and claimed it was hilarious; against my better judgement I recently picked it up for her sake, but could only watch about 20 minutes of the thing.  I can only take Mike Myers and Jim Carrey in small doses.

Some people like cupcakes better--I for one care less for them

The Burgomaster

I think the Austin Powers movies are HILARIOUS.

However, the trailers for THE CAT IN THE HAT make me want to vomit.  I will NOT spend my money on that movie.

I've seen images of THE CAT AND THE HAT and I don't like the look of Thing #1 and Thing # 2. That is why I won't be going to see it. They could have done better with them.

AUSTIN POWERS was a novelty type character. Extremely funny were the first two movies, but by the the time the third came out the humor ran out. I liked the first two when I seen them.

you know, i actually don't mind either jim carrey or mike myers, but on occasion find them a little annoying.  the grinch was an ok bit of entertainment, and had some funny moments [or at least one!] but bearing in mind that this and cat in the hat are kids movies, i'm not expecting to enjoy it thoroughly.

A Cat in the Hat movie
could be quite groovy

But Thing 1 and Thing 2 do not look like that
This is not The Cat in the Hat

The Cat is a cartoon
Mike Meyers here is a buffoon.

I will not watch this with a fox
I will not watch this in my socks.

Who wants to do a full review of this in rhyme?

Flangepart

Nice, Raj! I knew someone would take up the challange.
A review in rhyme...Been a long time since i saw one. For the Clooney Batman...in MAD magzine...Called it "Clooney at the bat"

Although Shrek was to me all good-
Its need for a sequal is not understood.
Except as the seed, of that bitter weed-
The all consuming hollywood greed.

Hummm....needs work...

There once was a cat from Nantucket...

I can't believe the family would allow them to make this in the first place--I have to assume his wife died or someone else in charge died because they were very strict about how his image or work was to be used all through the Nineties.  I remember Weird Al Yankovich wanting to adapt some of Seuss for a song parody of U2 but they wouldn't allow it...but now Mike Myers is spitting up hairballs.  Something is rotten in Whoville.

Who's butt was as big as a bucket . . .

I think he's funny, most of the time. Is the Cat in the Hat going to speak with a British or Scottish accent? Myers always seems to do that.
