Well, ALPHAVILLE is a French film that was shown on TURNER CLASSIC MOVIE acouple nights ago at 2am in the morning. It's a Sci-Fi detective film set in the future and they drive around in a 1960's mustang and filmed in some modern buildings in France. TCM actually showed this with subtitles. The film itself is probably the predecessor of SOYLENT GREEN. Maybe even some inspiration for BLADE RUNNER. There are some neat concepts like the bible of Alphaville is a dictionary and they had an execution of some people in a pool with sycronized type swimmers pulling out the bodies. The film has some really absurd scenes, but he's on another planet or something, so I guess its normal. If you don't mind foriegn films and have some spare time you might enjoy this one. Alot of dialogue about what is forbidden in Alphaville and scenes from rooms and cars driving around.
