Just wanted to say I love this site and I will be posting here from now on :) Me & some friends are into bad/funny movies a lot so I stumbled on this site. It gave me some nice ideas about which movies to check, and I'm gonna find some wu tang kung-fu flicks :P Just loved the part with the melon-monster on this site.
I'm 19 y/o, male and live in Holland.

Wanna start off with a question: Is the site still being updated, I mean are there new movies being added still ?_?

Well that's all, nice site :)

Muahahahaha

Mr_Vindictive

Yeah, Andrew updates as much as possible.

Great to have you to the site!

Welcome!

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

TheEvilDoctor

That's nice :) A site with this kind of original content should be updated as much as possible. Also it's good to know you aren't the only one who likes this kind of movies.

Muahahahaha

It is a good thing to know. Until I found this site, I thought my wife and I were the only ones that enjoyed bad movies. The worst part is when I go to Blockbuster to rent something rotten, I usually have one of the clerks trying to talk me out of the movie because it is so bad. This has happened to me more than once and I try to explain to them that bad is GOOD. There's no accounting for other's tastes.

TheEvilDoctor

Hehehe that has to be irritating :P
Mostly when I tell ppl about a crappy movie I saw, I try to do it in an as funny as possible fashion so they know that I watch them for a good laugh. I mean to appreciate a movie like say, plan 9, you'll have to watch it with the right 'attitude' and not in the way you look at an ordinary movie. I try to tell ppl that and most of the time they start giggling and they agree with me :) try it sometime.

hey what up Evil Doc?! It's cool to have someone from Holland on here. Are b-films big over there? Anyways, welcome.

.  .  .  .  I'm not the ideal person for the info since I don't know anyone here, and I've only posted for a week, but for an honest answer regarding posting...
.  .  .  .  Prof. Borntreger (I owe a debt for the "Bad Taste" review, I could not remember the film [my dad rented it for me... I wasn't but 12!], as it was lodged in the deep recesses of my mind) is not updating as much as in the past (look at the wide gaps [he used to update more, but the list only goes back so far]):
<http://www.badmovies.org/new.html>
.  .  .  .  He's had a new child recently (man, was that tearful, but I'm not looking for the thread), is in the military (quote of Prof. Borntreger: "Staff Sergeant USMC and champion of cinematic disasters, at your service."), and was involved in organizing toys for tots (read Ken "Jabootu" Beggs):
<http://www.badmovies.org/bbs/read.php?f=2&i=57245&t=57245>
.  .  .  .  ...in the post it mentions that he will be deployed for a while:
<http://www.badmovies.org/bbs/read.php?f=2&i=57815&t=57815>
.  .  .  .  ...but he mentions that even in his absence he will have reviews backlogged and this will be handled by his minions (that's kind of unfair to...), and the boards are now handled by those annointed in bold:
<http://www.badmovies.org/bbs/read.php?f=2&i=56310&t=56310>
.  .  .  .  So, he's real busy now, and can't always keep everyone satiated (hence, lots of open discussion on the boards).  But, if you came here, your gonna stay.  I've read other reviews at sites, high- and low-brow regarding bad movies, but Prof. Borntreger is really funny and incisive.  Even the reader reviews are funny (not an assault on others, just that it's rare that there is a similar style).  You should really have an answer from Prof. Borntreger on the stuff (meaning an official answer, since I don't know much, not an assault on Andrew, FAQ's answer this stuff, he shouldn't have to) but that's all I know.  And too be fair, Prof. Borntreger has posted a lot recently (last week) compared to the last couple of months.
.  .  .  .  Maybe I should have posted this for other people who said they were new?  (I just posted something, and p**sed some people off... [continually, but accidentally]).

from "Earth Vs. The Spider" (Ed Kemmer and Gene Roth):
.  .  .  .  Mr. Kingman:  Speaking of spiders, Are you sure rifles are just the thing?  Insects have a pretty simple nervous system, sheriff.  You could plug holes in one all day and never hit a vital spot.  If you wanna be on the safe side, call the pest control people in Springdale, and have them send out all the DDT they can find.
.  .  .  .  Sheriff Cagle:  A giant spider, what next?

Andrew

And glad to hear you enjoy the movies (as well as the site).  I have been getting back into the groove of updating.  Working on a review of "Super Mario Bros." right now, as time permits.  I would have finished it up last night, but I stayed late helping the wire and radio chiefs get their gear ready for embarkation.  Got home about 0030 and I was dirty, sore, and tired.  I went the heck to sleep.

Hi. I'm the resident "guy-no-one-likes-at-all". My purpose is to make stupid jokes and make you feel glad that you're not me.

That aside, if you ever have any questions about action sequences in movies, I'm your man.

"BATEMAN!!!!!"

No, "I'm the resident "guy-no-one-likes-at-all.""

from "Abominable Snowman, The" (Forrest Tucker and Peter Cushing):
Tom Friend: "Man, what your suggesting to us, is, this might be some sort of missing link?"
Dr. Rollason: "... hmm, ha, this is a little too rugh..."

Flangepart

Ah ha! Fresh meat...i mean, a new reader! Welcomen!
You have found a site with wit, style, and grace....so why am i allowed to post?
Ah...pity. That must be it.
Check out the many goodies, and remember, fill out your organ doner card. Andrew is very strickt about allowing newbies on the board. It can get...weird...around here.
Enjoy!

Hehe I like the people here already ^^ Silly sods :P
To some guy who asked: No there is ABSOLUTELY NO b-movie scene in Holland, it took me 2 months to find plan 9 from outer space for example :( and most movies have to be obtained through import.
There is a surprisingly big horror-movie scene though so I guess that kind of makes up for it :)

To the 'action sequence' man: Have you by any chance seen the fearless hyena with the infamous CHOPSTICK KUNGFU scene? I really loved it and I would like to see a review on this site but maybe it's not low-budget enough :)

Muahahahaha

Brother Ragnarok

Evil Dizzy in the hizzy!  Jesus H. Christ, I can't believe I said that.  Anyway, since we're making introductions, if you've got Godzilla or Dr. Who questions (which no one ever does...*goes and has a good cry*) I'm your guy.
Although I'm not Action Sequence Man, I own Fearless Hyena, and that chopstick scene rocks.
Welcome aboard, mate.  I like the cut o' yer gib.
