f**k this dumb movie.  All the principle roles are miscast.  The main guy is supposed to be this brave hero but he's neurotic and sort of faggy (no offense).  William Hurt or some one is trying to be this "noir" detective guy, he's totally Merchant- Ivory.  Then they try to have this red hot night club singer and she's mute and stupid.  The plot is recycled Twilight Zone, the special effects  are boring.  That fat f**k Roger Ebert recommended this movie for some reason.

Mofo Rising

Guess you didn't like it.

I thought it was a pretty good movie.  I liked the city atmosphere and the frenetic plot.  I also liked the illusory level of reality that the movie was based around.  The only major quibble I have is the ending, which devolved into brain on brain combat.  That was pretty cheesy.

It also had Jennifer Connelly, who's incredibly hot, even though she didn't get naked.  (For that watch HOT SPOT.  It's not very good, but man is the nudity great.)

But, since you were so disgusted with the movie, you may be even more disgusted to hear that Ebert actually has a commentary track to himself on the DVD.

But that's just my opinion.

Man, Ebert didn't just recommend that movie, he said it was the BEST movie of 1998.  Number one, the best movie of the year.

Personally I haven't seen it, though most people say it's pretty good.

i loved the movie... i thought it was very innovative, and the design was outstanding.
