Hi, I was staying with my aunt when all of this happened...so unfortunately I had to sit around and listen to a group of elderly folks talking about how this is leading to the end of the world.  Now what do you think...is this seriously WW3?  Myself, I don't find it likely considering that most of the world seems to be standing together.  What are your opinions...end of time or not?

The Honn

I can see it leading to some kind of conflict, but I dont know about WW 3. The main reason is, in my opinion, WW 3 has been going on for YEARS now-all these conflicts in the Middle East have had the entire world involved in some way-be it media, supplies, troops, etc. Adding America to the mix will either (slowly) bring it to an end, or give us more of the same for another decade.

It's hard to have a world war when all but a handfull of tiny countries are sympathetic to you.

The Honn

Good point. The world and their weaponry vs the middle east and their biscuit.

It is my opinion that most of the people who say that current events are the harbingers of the end times are saying that because they want Jesus to come and take them to heaven. There has not been a generation since Christianity began that has not thought the end of the world is at hand. Obviously, most of them were disappointed. If the world is going to end the way the Bible predicts it will, then no one will know ahead of time. I think God has a sense of humor - He'll probably end it all when most of us are in the bathroom. (Hmm ... was Elvis a prophet?)

Things were not all that different toward the downfall of the Roman Empire than they are today - widespread corruption, crime, cruelty, and depravity. I think there is probably a major shake-up coming for all of us but, just as in Roman times, I doubt that the world will end.
