She didnt because the idea was already used in Evil Dead.   Evil Dead 2 needed a new story and new features

doesn't anybody f**king remember that the girl in evil dead 2 is supposed to be linda not cheryl (the one who got raped) so why the hell would you be expecting linda to get raped in number 2 when she was neer raped in number one? you bunch of pervs....jeez.  the first 5 to 10 minutes of the movie is just a short sum up of the first movie telling how ash and his girlfriend went up in the mountains subtracting all of the ohter friends and how she becomes possessed and he kills her and burys her. well the next day we see from the evil spirits point of view attacking ash and he flys through the trees and s**t and falls in a puddle. at the point where the spirit hits ash is were evil dead 1 was left off.
