People in Maryland have been reporting seeing a strange creature that looks like a cross between a hyena and a coyote. One guy decided to set up a video camera to catch it on tape. According to the story, experts have so far been unable to figure out what it is. Here's a web page with pictures and video of the animal;

Yeah- I saw this earlier.  It looks like some sort of "hyena-fox-horse-bear-dog" hybrid.   Really strange.

Whoa, that is weird. It does seem to appear doglike, but there are parts of it-- the ears, the snout-- that seem more like a pig or some other hoofed animal. I'll be interested to hear what conclusions the experts come up with.

Yeah the front did sort of look boar-like.
Now who's mad scientist lab did this thing break out of.  Or is this another SCi-Fi channel hoax?

Dunners

naw this is real, I wonder if there are any more of its kind?

save the world, kill a politician or two.

We were looking at this at work and we decided  it is a Tasmanian Tiger(thyacline), an animal which is extinct. But  they are debating over whether to clone them.

Check it out:

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Wow, that's kind of creepy but if it doesn't hurt anyone I guess there's no reason to harm it. Perhaps it's a new evoled creature or something, next up the Jersey Devil will be proven real.

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

Hmm, that's an interesting theory. If it is a thylacine, then its appearance in Baltimore raises a lot of questions: Either the cloning is further along than anyone let on, or someone managed to find this supposedly extinct animal in Australia, didn't tell anyone, smuggled it back to the states, and either set it free or accidentally let it get away. Somewhere I think I still have a tape with the only known film footage of a thylacine; I might have to do some comparing and contrasting, to see if the movements are similar.

It looks a bit like a Killer Shrew, minus part of the costume, to be honest.

I looked up a few pages discussing this animal and a lot of people seem to think it's a red fox with mange that has lost most of its hair, giving it an unusual appearance. Others thought it was a young bear that had lost its hair, but it doesn't move like a bear.
