Fearless Freep

Don't give them any ideas..

Hmm...

Nazgul vs Jedi?

Going places unmapped, to do things unplanned, to people unsuspecting

That all depends on how many times Lucas tampered with the film.

Kory

Yeah- he would release one version, distribute it on DVD, then re-release it a year or two later with an alternate ending where the other one wins.

Hmmm.... well, Im betting on Predator, but only because I think he looks cooler. Boba's pretty nasty too.
Fry: "Im having one of those things. You know, a headache, with pictures!"

Which predator?  There are a lot of them, and they vary greatly in skill.

Yaddo42

Well, since badass fan favorite characters from Lucas pretty much underwhelm or get killed off too easily (Boba Fett, Darth Maul, Jango Fett, ) I'd bet on a Predator.

Do Predators still tote around the small nuke for dying man's revenge? I've never read any of the AVP books or comics, so my knowledge of them comes from the first 2 movies.

Prophet Tenebrae

Boba, Jango, Darth Maul, Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader - and most likely Count Dufus (well, he was pretty cool in the Clone Wars cartoon - which is infinitely better than Episode 1/2).

Yeah, Predators love their last man standing nukes - but if Arnie could walk away from one, so could Boba.

As to a fight, it would be pretty close both of them are bad ass nutters. It really depends on the playing field. Is it a straight fight or is it one hunting the other? Personally, I think if one didn't get the drop on the other it could be a bit of a Mexican stand-off.

Who would win?

Answer: The studio execs who would make squillions out of such a showdown.  These are two of my favourite Sci Fi characters, so the movie could be just both of them sitting around playing cards for all I care, it would still kick ass for me.

Although one plot point that could work with this is they are both hunting the same prey, Fett trying to keep it alive for the bounty, the Predator's just after a honking big trophy.  Would be an interesting development of Fett's character for one, and the place of some interesting action for another.

Though this will never happen so I don't know why I bother thinking about it anyway.  Well I guess there are always dreams...

The only way Boba would stand a chance is if he could somehow disable the Predator's portable cloak generator.

Once that's out of commission, they're pretty much on equal terms.
The only exception to that would be their physical strength.
The Predator is probably twice as strong as Boba Fett.
If it came down to a close quarter melee, my money would be on the Predator every time.

I agree.  Seems the Predator's weapons (from the movies) are a good combo of close (spear-thing),  medium (that cool disk from the 2nd film), and long range (autotargeting shoulder gun).  Boba, as depicted, seems a little underpowered in the close combat department. being a normal (if highly competent) human.

Boba Fet would fight dirty, I gather the Predator has sort of a Kzinti sense of honor.

Harry

that's too hard...it hurts my head.

raj

about as long lasting as Bambi vs. Godzilla.

Neon Noodle

Well, it's a battle of the cooler toys, no matter what.

Boba can use rockets, death darts, hogtie cords, and any other number of things. Would the Predator use his cloaking shield? Seems to me that when Predators face off with "the ultimate prey" they don't use the cloak anymore, or the mask. Boba might have a chance then.

Alas, we will never know.

While on a journey, Chuang Tzu found an old skull, dry and parched.
With sorrow, he questioned and lamented the end of all things.
When he finished speaking, he dragged the skull over and, using it for a pillow, lay down to sleep.
In the night, the skull came to his dreams and said, 'You are a fool to rejoice in the entanglements of life.'
Chuang Tzu couldn`t believe this and asked, 'If I could return you to your life, you would want that, wouldn`t you?'
Stunned by Chuang Tzu`s foolishness, the skull replied, 'How do you know that it is bad to be dead?'
