I have not seen this movie myself but i heard it is really disturbing.Has anyone here seen it.

i think the main reason folks find this movie disturbing is it contains not necessarily the most graphic rape scene, however it may be one of the longest rape scenes ever...then it's just the woman getting revenge. like LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT if you've seen that...

there is a newer release of I SPIT containing a commentary track by JOE BOB BRIGGS...

happy viewing,

in my own opinion i felt like Last House was atleast a well made film for what Craven had to work with. it dealt with some deeper themes on certain levels.

i wasn't able to even sit through I Spit... it just came across as a mindless snuff film to me. however the Joe Bob commentary does sound interesting.

Joe Bob Briggs is the funny cowboy guy, right? What would he really have to say about "I Spit on Your Grave?" He can't exactly make fun of it, can he? After all, the movie has zero comedic value (and about zero other values for that matter).

I remember I Spit from my youth.  Very disturbing, especially for a young man.  Netflix has it.  I recommend watching it.

Daniel Johnson

I have it as well as the dvd with the Briggs commentary (although I haven't listened to it yet). I agree this can be a really disturbing film if watched alone, but the rape scenes are SO unrealistic. If you ever watch it with anyone else they'll be sure to point out that no one can have sex the way most of them do as well as the complete lack of motive.

My problem wasn't that it was too graphic. I just didn't think the movie had any substance. 4 guys have their way with a helpess girl for 90% of the movie, then she goes on the offensive and attacks them all at the end. Was there suppose to be any point to this movie?

yes Joe Bob is the b-movie personality actor who used to have an awesome show: Monstervision. Monstervision was him hosting a lot of b and horror films. He has also written a lot of book and acted and worked on a ton of films. Here's the link to his official site: www.joebobbriggs.com

I've only seen the first half of this film up to where the girl gets raped.

Everyone always told me how horrible the rape scene was but I didn't find it all that disturbing.
I've seen way harsher stuff on the screen.
Maybe I'm just too desensitized.

I have yet to see the 2nd half where the girl gets back at them.

My friend and I loved to watch horror movies and she picked this one off the shelf.  I thought, ah what the heck.

My reaction?  Well, at 13 it was pretty disturbing to say the least.  I remember it, but not completely, but I definately do not want to sit through it again at the age of 28.  Certain scenes will stick with you though and will never forgot.

I also saw Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time at this age with my cousin.  I ACTUALLY  thought this was going to be a HORROR movie...lol.  so you can imagine my reaction during the "Sweet Transvestite" song.  My mind was blown... and mouth agape.  From that moment, I swear it, I had realized that the world was a much larger, much stranger, and more interesting place that I was sheltered from.

So I searched beyond my present world from then on...and well, I haven't seen it all, but nothing rarely shocks me.
