It is the Gold Standard by which I measure all other Bad Movies.  It is my bellwhether:  Is the dialogue of bad movie X better or "worse" than Plan 9?  Is the acting as poor?  Is the photography as cut-rate?  Are the production values as awful?  This is how my brain works -- There are only 2 kind of Bad Movies:  Those as enjoyable as Plan 9 and those that are not.
Phil Tucker's Robot Monster would be in category 1.  So would They Saved Hitler's Brain.  Horrors of Spider Island would be a category 2.

I agree: PLAN 9 is the "Holy Grail" of bad movies.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

I own a copy on DVD with interviews of those who new Ed Wood. You'd be surprised at how many people have never saw PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE.

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

Bandit Keith from Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged Series (episode 12)

Didn't mean anything by that ASHTHECAT. It dosn't come on TV anymore. I don't even think Blockbuster carries it anymore. Fun film for us B-movie fans...........

You know I just remembered that in one episode of the X-Files Mulder was watching "Plan 9" and declared that he had watched it 19 times and Sully's response was "That's sad."

No, Sully! No, writers! What would be sad if somebody watched say..."Manos the Hands of Fate" or "Children of the Living Dead" 19 times!(And actually having a great or fun time watching it) If you do that then that means you need to see a doctor and begin watching "Evil Dead"

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

haha anyone who watches Manos 19 times would probably be at risk to go into a comatose depression. i'm sure the writers meant that as ode to Plan 9 though. a lot of times screenwriters will make comments to their influences even in the most subtle lest ways. :)

Chopper

yep Scott, sounds like the same version i got. does yours have a collection of his other film's trailers on it also?

keno player

I went to WalMart last night after reading that Chopper picked up Plan 9.  Here's what I found in the 5.50 bin.

Plan 9 From Outer Space - Can't wait to watch the mini documentary on this disc.

Sour Grapes - I'm a huge fan of Seinfeld and Larry David's work.  Can't wait to see this film that he wrote and directed!

Martial Arts Samurai Pack - This is the best find I've ever had.  4 Films!  5.50! Here's the films:

1.  Street Fighter - Sonny Chiba's best film.  I've been wanting this on DVD for quite some time.

2.  Kung Fu, Punch Of Death - Never seen it.  Anyone have any info on it?

3.  Bruce Lee, The Man, The Myth - Looks like some type of doc/tribute to Bruce.  Looks interesting.

4.  Legend Of The Eight Samurai - Another Sonny Chiba film.  God I love this guy.  Haven't seen it before, and it looks quite interesting.

Well, 6 flicks for about 15.00.  I'll post some reviews of each flick as I watch them.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Chopper

i tried watching Legend of the 8 Samurai (same DVD), the music was too horrible though.

What really makes Plan 9 funnier, is that it was financed by a Baptist  Church(as an investment no less).

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Chopper

haha! very true Trek, in fact i was trying to remember if any of the people from the church acted in it.
