I saw this trailer before "Shaun of the Dead" this past weekend.  It's a new movie with Michael Keaton set for release next month.  I don't know about y'all, but I found it VERY creepy.

(I'm not overly talented, so I can't give you an official "link"... I figure you can copy & paste it instead).

What exactly is "white noise"?

I heard the phraise in Carnosaur 3: Primal Species

"During the attack [by the terrorists] a blanket of white noise was sent out in all directions." Or something along those lines.

It's supposedly how the dead talk to the living through radio transmissions or something like that.  They call it "white noise" or "EVP" (I cant remember what it stands for).  Theoretically, people can set up recorders in a certain way that will allow whoever is listening to hear the dead person speaking.

It sounds all staticky when you listen, so I don't know if the white noise is the static or the voice.

Either way, it's $*%&#! creepy!!

I agree Kory.

I caught the trailer online about 3 weeks ago or so.  It was incrediably creepy then, I can only imagine how creepy the trailer is in a dark theater.  The only problem I had with the trailer was that it was trying to convince me too hard that it was real.  This is real.  What you are hearing is real.  It's real.  Did we tell you it's real?

Otherwise, I think it's a great concept and can't wait to see the film when it's released.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

EVP stands for Electronic Voice Phenominon(sp?)

HERE is a  link to a webiste with some good info about EVP.  IT also has some very interesting files that you can listen to.

Enjoy!!!!

EDIT-Link does not seem to work, if you will go to the address bar and delete the "/" at the end of the address then hit enter it will pull it up.  So does anyone know why it does this when I am trying to close the link?

White noise is  basically static, or a static-like background noise. The sound of an air conditioner or a computer (fans, hard drives etc.) would qualify as white noise also. They even make white noise machines whose purpose is just to make a constant sound, which is supposed to help obscure other sounds that might be distracting.
