I'm on a roll with the fun stuff.....

This Mario Bava piece (1972) features Joseph Cotton (of Citizen Kane fame) and Elke Summer (who can't scream worth s**t but is fine to look at).

Ancient curse read, evil Baron Blood resurrected, blah blah.  Not a terribly interesting story, but Bava's intricate set pieces, color scheme, and inventive camera work actually made me jump.  I've seen over 1000 horror films in my day, and for one at this point to make me shiver.....wow.  It was fantastic.  Get the DVD widescreen version if you can; if the image is cropped it won't translate well.  5 slimes.

The movie has a great title, and some overall good horror movie feeling, but I don't rate it on any off my high listings. Maybe I saw a c;ut version or just had trouble getting into a film that day. I must say that I was glad to see it even though. Worth viewing. Some of my favorite european horror films are:

Tombs of the Blind Dead
Zombie
Horror Rises from the Tomb

And of coarse almost all Hammer films.

I think horror films from Spain have much to offer. I just can't get to see them.
