The Fallen Ones (2005) - A SciFi original with Casper Van Diem, Robert Wagner, Geoffrey Lewis, Tom Bosley

A 42 foot tall mummy is unearthed , Tom Bosley (aka Mr. C) as a rabbi does the translation, Robert Wagner is the big time land developer, Van Diem is an archaeologist.
The mummy is the offspring of a fallen angel and a human. He has people as his internal organs.

Too much crap and not enough  of the giant mummy stomping around. The acting is about on par with the subject matter.

What I learned from this movie: Don't hire the angel of death (who is also the mummy's dad) as your chief of security.

The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973) - Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing

Drac takes to the corporate boardroom with a plan to distribute an accelerated version of the bubonic plague to wipe out all life of earth with the help of a German industrialist, a Nobel prize winning biologist, and a Brtish MP who he has converted to satanism.

Van Helsing gets drafted by the Scotland Yard and British Intelligence to uncover the plot.

This is kind of a strange film, it almost seemed like part Hammer Dracula film and part James Bondish type spy movie (right down to the music).

It has all the Hammer hallmarks, naked boobies, flowing blood, and screaming ladies. My main problem, not much Dracula (this was Chris Lee's last outing as the king of the vampires). Cushing gets far more screen time and does his usual good work. Actually I always thought Cushing was creepier looking than Lee.

Overall it was an okay time waster, but certainly nothing spectacular.

Next I will be watching Wes Craven's Chiller (a PG rated horror movie from Wes Craven?)  and Abraxas: Guardian of the  Universe (starring a certain ex-governor, which Andrew has given a two drip rating).

Hey man, for a buck a piece I can't help myself.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

I owe a copy of The SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA (1973) and thought it was a decent Dracula film. The copy I have is COUNT DRACULA AND HIS VAMPIRE BRIDES. The idea of Dracula releasing the plague was what sets this film apart. Worth a look if you get the chance.

I also own satanic rites I got with a horror collection. I enjoyed it but nothing special.
