Uh-oh, looks like Andrew got his ass misquoted on The Being.

hehe, that's what I call creative quoting.  The quote is in two parts, with the 'a rare find' is at the start [and on this site it is followed by 'Stick to spuds my friends, they are much easier to swallow whole,' not exactly the glowing praise one can use on a DVD cover]

Check it out here, if you want to read the actual review: Review for THE BEING

I dunno... It's almost like hitting the big time...  I don't think Jabootu's been quoted or misquoted yet.

On the other hand, it says "BAD MOVIES . org" right below his name, so you'd think if they were trying to pass it off as high art they might leave that out...

Do you think Andrew should ask for some money in return? I mean, if that's the definitive cover, his review is the only "critical praise" they have been able to reproduce.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I looked at that pic like three times before I finally figured out what you guys were talking about.  I didn't see it at first.

I still have yet to see the horrid trash that is "The Being"
I've heard its really bad!

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

That's funny!  You never know how somebody is going to twist your words in today's day and age.  Smart viewers will hop over here and read his real review before they buy.

To be quoted means you've been noticed.  To be misquoted, well, you've almost gotta be semi-famous!

Andrew

I have seen quotes from some of the reviews turn up on sites selling DVDs, but this might be the 1st I know of on the actual package (though "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" uses several of the screen captures from the review on its cover).  Still, it is amusing that they picked pieces of two sentences to make the quote.

And, funny thing, I actually will probably buy the DVD.  "The Being" is one I remember from when my mom worked at a video store in the 80s.  I constantly buy them, to upgrade my VHS copies.  This usually causes my wife no small amount of amusement.

A good point, how would you feel about being misquoted? Screwed-up first or another s**tty reason to dread tomorrow?

Here's a positive spin on one of Andrew's reviews.

Abraxas: Defender of the Universe

I must recommend this film. What else could you want from the governor of Minnesota?

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Hehe, here's a couple of mine:

Death Ship: 'It's poetic, my friends'

GI Samurai: 'GI Samurai; a promising Asian film, sounds pretty cool doesn't it?'

Star Crystal: 'The perfect piece of art.  Entertaining and fun'
