Do certain movies make you want to eat certain foods?

Sometimes food looks so good in movies that it makes me want to eat whatever the actors are eating.  Actually, sometimes it isn't the food itself that gets to me, it's the GUSTO with which the actors are eating it.  A few examples:

1.  Many westerns make me want to eat baked beans.  This is true of some prison movies, too . . . especially ones where the prisoners are out on a road-gang and all they get for lunch is a plate of beans and a hunk of bread.

2.  I dare you to try to watch GOODFELLAS without getting a craving for Italian food.

3.  The scene in KING RAT where the prisoners cook the dog always makes me hungry.  I'm not saying that it makes me hungry for dog, but the way they eat it makes it look really good . . . maybe I could substitute dog for beef stew or something.

4.  There is a scene in THE STING where Robert Shaw is in his bathrobe eating a meal.  I have no idea what the hell he is eating, but the way he eats it makes me want to have some.

5.  In the movie SCARECROW with Gene Hackman and Al Pacino, there is a scene where everyone is eating greasy Kentucky Fried Chicken.  It makes me want to go out and buy a bucket.

6.  The scene in BONNIE AND CLYDE when they kidnap Gene Wilder and his girlfriend and they all get hamburgers makes me want to eat a big, juicy half-pound of ground beef on a fresh bun.

There are many others, but I'm starting to get hungry, so I have to go . . .

I watched The Longest Yard the other day and the dude who always waved a McDonalds cheeseburger in everyone's face made me crave McDonalds.
I went and got me a Double Quarter Pounder meal after the movie ended.

Wow Burgo...I'm noticing that you're starting to post topics that are more like what Ash used to post. Only difference is that yours don't take up 3 pages of space and I don't feel the need to vomit after reading them.

Yes, there are movies that make me want to eat though I can't recall off the top of my head which movies specifically.

I recall a vampire movie that featured Donald Pleasance enthusiastically wolfing down a plate of bacon and eggs. I think it was supposed to be disgusting, but it put me in the mood for a nice big breakfast.

Fried Green Tomatoes always makes me want barbecued ribs (pork, not human).

A buddy of mine always used to get hungry whenever he watched old detective shows where somebody walked into the office with a box of sandwiches and passed them around. I'm talking about the way they used to come from coffee shops, etc. - cut diagonally and wrapped in wax paper. He said it used to make him hungry to watch the cops getting their sandwiches tossed to them, then promptly unwrapping and eating them.

I'm not sure why, but whenever I watch "Repo Man," I get the urge to answer questions with a curt "f**k that!" ...

and I find myself craving a shrimp plate.

I agree on the point for Goodfellas - I always want to eat either an Italian hoagie or some form of pasta - mainly angel hair pasta with the meat sauce.

You know how Troll 2 is loaded with yummy little confectionaries?  I seriously craved cake, cookies, browines, donuts, corn on the cob, cheesecake (which in the movie they call a pudding =P), bacon, eggs, etc.

This movie is bound to put you on the path of being a diabetic!  =P

The movie that really makes me crave Italian food has to be The Last Man Standing. I get hungry just watching that scene where the Italian gangsters sit down to that huge spread.

Existenz makes me crave chinese food, even though that scene is utterly disgusting, much like inevitably after watching Super Size Me, you start to crave fast food.
