sticky?

Used to be, if you posted a response to a message, it went to the top of the board.  Now there's a bunch of things marked "Sticky" that stay put.  
Really, I know I"m technologically illiterate, and it's amazing I'm able to even turn a computer on, etc. etc., but what in Zorg's name is this "Sticky" business?

Sticky, whilst being a fun word which can be used in dirty innuendo, is for topics which moderators/administrators deem important enough to stay at the top of the board [so as not to let them fall away into obscurity.]
