What does not kill me makes me stranger.

I saw a house with a big tapestry hanging off the front door that read Welcome. And next to the door a No Trespassing sign was tacked up.

I admired the heck out of those people.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

I'm tired of my life.
My wife has been sick for a month and can't stop coughing; I finally talked her into making a doctor's appointment and we can't get the doctor's office to pick up the phone.  My 94 year old mother in law is also hacking constantly, refusing to die or get better.
Both my daughters and their husbands have moved back in with us, so our house is overflowing with trash and laundry all the time.
My septic system is broken and instead of going to my tank the sewage is spilling out of a cutoff valve in the middle of my front yard.  It will cost $2700 to fix it, or $7000 for a new system - and I don't have the money for either.
I'd like to just run away, truth be told.

I feel for you mate. Wish I could help.  :bluesad:

Think how wretched you'd feel if you didn't have your conviction that eternal paradise awaited you on the other aide of the impending zombiepocalypse. After all, a miserable humanist can be a miserable sort indeed. (Think me in 2000.)

Have you ever considered hard-core exercise? The adrenaline surge of running til you're just this side of body-damage can be quite the thrill. So can smashing some arrogant Yuppie prick (i.e. most of the people I ever played back in the day) in straight sets on a tennis court.

Short of energetic output, play some loud music and get that music high going. Personally I think a music high is maybe the best feeling life gives and it's hard to care about most things when you're in some self-induced higher state.

Absent that, say sod it and have a few beers. Won't kill ya. I figure that's why God miracled us sex, drugs, and rock and roll. To get us through the 10%-99% of life that can suck.

In any case, feel better soon. I think you are one of the best people anyone here knows, and no one wants you to feel down.

There's a Mexican style sushi restaurant near the airport

^ What is Mexican style sushi?
Does it have beans and hot sauce? Does it come with flatbread?

Starting today anyone in Ohio who is above twenty-one and not forbidden by law from owning firearms may legally carry a firearm concealed upon her or his person, without a permit or training and this person is not required to notify others that this weapon is being concealed. Ohio joins local states  Indiana and Kentucky in permitting this. I guess time will tell how this liberty will work out but to me it does not sound like a reassuring development to have untrained citizens going around with lethal weapons.

Texas enacted "Open Carry" a couple years ago; you don't even have to conceal your weapon.  Just pack it almost anywhere.  The only upside is that it also includes swords!
