Did anyone catch GHOST ADVENTURES last night on Sci-Fi Channel? One of the best ghost shows I've seen. Even it the host was a bit annoying. They had EVP's, Shadow Figure, Lights, Flying Brick, and a full apparition walking across a room. They went to some creepy places in Nevada. These people were freaking out for 2 solid hours.

I caught most of it. I thought the end, with the two guys locked in the old haunted hotel was bit BlairWitchy with them running around, screaming and calling out to each other.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

I was totally into that!  That whole climax had me on the edge of my seat.  The last ghost voice before the camera cuts out was chilling.  Chilling, I tell you!

My wife and I are big fans of Ghost Hunters so we're always hungry for good paranormal shows.  For the most part, ghost shows suck so I was on guard for the first half of the movie and it surprised the hell out of me.  This could have easily been just as awful as Most Haunted or worse, MTV's Fear.  It wound up somewhere between that show A Haunting (which can be absolutely terrifying at times) and Ghost Hunters.  If the footage from Ghost Adventures was real, then that is amazing.  If it's all faked and some kind of stunt, kudos to those guys for crafting a genuinely frightening haunted house movie.  Once they started investigating the Goldfield Hotel, the whole thing kicked itself up a notch.  It's rare when a movie, particularly one like this, scares me and I have to admit, as jaded as I am, the last minutes of that movie freaked me out.

I'll have to check this film out.  Anyone ever watch Most Haunted?  I absolutely can't stand that show.  Thats all it is to me literally is one hour of that blonde chick saying "WHAT WAS THAT...(scream)...DID YOU HEAR THAT..."  and the psychic saying names that have nothing to do with the place.

I only saw a little of this, but I did catch the thing with the flying brick.

I tend to watch Ghost Hunters pretty regularly, aside from the fact that they almost never find anything, and nothing of note ever seems to happen (It doesn't help that in the ads, the sci-fi channel makes it LOOK like something's going to happen, and it turns out to be totally mundane).  I guess I just like seeing all the equipment and hearing all the ghost stories.

My wife and I watch Ghost Hunters faithfully, but Most Haunted is just a joke. I can take GH more seriously because most of the time nothing happens. On Most Haunted, you'd think every case was the ultimate paranormal experience by the way those dorks act.

One thing about Ghost Hunters that is almost as bad as the ads leading you to believe something sweet is going to happen is the Thermal cam footage.  It always goes down like this:

Grant and Jason do a sweep with the thermal.  They catch something in the camera that looks distinctly human where nothing should be.

Cut to commercial.  Return from commercial.

Sorry guys.  What we thought was a ghost was actually a thermal reflection of Jason.  Maybe next time.

They really need to ditch that piece of equipment.  It was great for commercial time cliffhangers for a while but every time they find something now, all I can do is roll my eyes.

I catch A Haunting every now and then and as dramatized as it is, I get caught up in it every time.  It seems like every episode ends with some kind of exorcism and ridiculous psychic footage, but the build up is always very spooky.

Did this rerun recently?  I noticed a spike in traffic to my site for keywords relating to the movie.  Those guys blurb me on their Myspace since I had nothing but good things to say about it.  The DVD is due out early next year, I'm hoping I wind up in the press materials.

Speaking of Ghost Hunters, I wish they'd ditch that EMF detector.  That thing can fluctuate wildly and they get all excited (6.4, 6.5! 7.2!!), but what does it ever prove?

I remember this special, it was a lot of fun :-D This team knows how to work a camera and make things look creepy and the lead guy has the best voice for narration. The EVP's in the miner's house were great and the part at the end even made me jump in excitement (a little), I was listening to the story of the baby-down-the-mineshaft story so closely, I thought it was a ghost baby flying through the room at first XD. The evidence was really brick-solid.

Sorry.

A bit blair witchy? Dude you know it was real right? Its not like they planned this out. It just happened. How can you critisize the storyline of a documentary? Its like telling Michael Jordan that his slam dunks are getting a little repetitive. They just freaking happen dude! Its not something you plan out!

I also caught the documentary on the Sci Fi Channel.  What is up w/those two guys running at the hotel when that brick went flying across the room.  It's not like the brick was thrown at them, just across the room.  I dont think that you'd see Jason or Grant from TAPS (Ghost Hunters) run away.  It's more likely that they'd run towards it just to get to the bottom of it.  I don't know.  (Of course personally, i'd be running too, but then again I'm not a ghost hunters, just some one interested in the footage.) :hot:

i just finished watching this movie on tv (and missed the first half hour, so i hope i didn't miss too much) and I'm not really to impressed. i don't really buy into the 'orbs' thing (they still look like reflections of light to me), or the light seen in the graveyard during the middle half of the movie. however it did pick up at the end while they were locked in the building and caught footage of the flying brick and the shadow at the end of the hall. Although i don't take the custodian that gave the filmmakers the tour too seriously they did get some great footage and also caught some great EVPs.

Hey all
I watched the episode at the Goldfield Hotel. It was a bit troubling that here are two guys that are going in there to find Spirits and then when they did they ran away . I do understand that those places can be a bit spookie, but again if you don't want to really find them then don't go looking.
I am a shaman and an ordained minister. In my work I specialize in the crossing over of spirits, Smugging/Blessing haunts, and Soul Retrieval. I have worked with a few different paranormal groups and given services many different  people in they're homes and business. No one should ever go into a paranormal situation that they don't understand or have the intension's of helping the situation. Investigation is admirable but I find most who do it only seek to debunk not confirm, and when they do they are startled when they find something. Then when there is confirmation they leave the situation without helping the Clients or spirits. Keep in mind no spirits that are earthbound hold no power over us. They need to be released/healed. We need to investigate these situations after establishing a veil of protection, so when spirits are encountered no harm can come to you and you don't have to run away leaving the situation without conclusion.
This is just my 2 cents worth.
Spirit be with you
