Speed Racer (2008)

Has anyone else seen the trailer for this yet?   

It looks pretty good.  I was a little apprehensive about what the Wachowskis were going to do with the source material and I'm pleasantly surprised.

I'm not a huge fan of the series but I have a working knowledge of the characters and basically like it...What do you think?

If nothing else, it looks like a good action flick.  (I also like the bad guy in the suit.  He sounds like one of the villains in the show.   )

I'm not look for Citizen Kane from a Speed Racer movie.   I think it'll be a fun way to waste 2 hours at a theater.

"Go! Speedracer! Go!" That show (IMHO) has one of the greatest theme songs ever, but other then that, I could never get into the show. So, I am unlikely to see the film.

Well, it looks like the Wachowski Bro- erm, siblings are staying true to what made them a real sucess and going for about 2hrs of "ZOMG!!!111!! CGI!!!1111!!!", but this time it'll be brightly coloured and cheesy, rather than dark and moody and R-rated.  May go and see it, purely because of John Goodman with that terrifying 'stache.

Chim-chim! My dad is a big Speed Racer fan and my brother just wants to see John Goodman as Pops. Yeah, I think we're going to see this movie. Crazy looking tracks, whoa.

I think it's supposed to come out in 3D, too.  I never cared much for the series, but the film looks pretty fun.
