A Jurassic Park 4 has also been in talks of getting made but it's supposedly been having some problems in getting a script that Spielberg will approve of.

Just on a trivial note: The last idea that I had heard was gonna be the plot for JP 4 was that the dinos got off the island and escaped to New York and basically it turned into a Godzilla type of movie--which of course is a bad idea in itself but y'know.....

Actually, the current idea for JP4 is, and I am one hundred percent serious about this, a troop of genetically engineered, gun totting, dinosaur super soliders that go around the world fighting terrorism.

And how can that not be the best sequel ever?

It's gonna be about his son Ace Ventura Jr. who will be played by some little kid. You know this movie will suck.

Yes, but that worked so well with Son of the Mask!

Oh, wait, no it didn't!

I just find it ironic that he ONLY goes after classics that were originally done by or with whites and makes them "all black" programs. There are enough classic black programs for him to choose from so why does he only go after white ones to do a remake of? I don't see any white guys remaking Shaft or Roots with an "all white cast" why do there seem to be so many "let's take a classic program the originated with white actors and make some of them or just all of them black" cases. I mean you got Daredevil, you got Honeymooners, you got  Wild Wild West, you got Back To School--just to name a few.

Hollywood doesn't care about race, they care about name recognition.  Name actors, black or white or asian, draw in audiences, so they get forced into films that they don't fit.  Cedric's problem is he takes too many films that he doesn't have script influence over, and thus we get Code Name:The Cleaner instead of the good parts of Barbershop.

As an example of why we will see stars put into roles no matter what race they are, I Am Legend had Will Smith as the star and set a record opening.  No matter how hard you try to play the race card, it isn't about that, it's about making money.

QuoteBut let's turn this around shall we?

What if we started seeing "all white" remakes of  "The Cosby Show", "Keenan And Kel", "Sanford And Son" and so on?

All of a sudden we would hear an outrage of "whites showing racism against blacks" because they changed the skin color--THEN skin color would start to matter. But as long as it's just black remakes of old programs/movies that were originally done with a white cast-then there is no problem.
Night of the Living Dead had a strong black character, but the remake had the white woman strong instead

Assault on Precinct 13 had a strong black cop main character and a white criminal, the remake had a white cop and black criminal.

QuoteI mean hell..........The Truman Show IS STILL getting crap because it "didn't have any blacks in his town" which is bulls**t as it is because there were SEVERAL blacks that were in that movie-his neighbors are just a primary example.........
I've never heard that as a critique of the Truman Show.  If anyone did make it, it's easy to just never bother to listen to anything they say ever again.

I would really like to hear you explain how that would even be remotely possible.

Quote"The Cosby Show"

There are enough shows that fit under the genre of "typical family sitcom". Basically, , you're saying there's never been a sitcom about a white family.

I believe the reason is that black humor differs from white humor. You have a basic story like the movie "Airplane", , and the story means very little,, it's all the jokes and jabs all through it that make it funny. But, ,if the same basic story is used, , and all the jokes and such changed to suit a different audience, , , what's the big deal.

i have to agree, but my reason for that is because my chef and delivery driver, who are both black, brought it up to ME!they weren't happy with wild, wild west, mainly because of the casting.me,i thought it was okay,no great shakes or anytrhing, but it didn't occur to me that will smith was not the right casting decision until they mentioned it.i think will has the ability to be a great actor,i adored men in black, and i defended his right to play that role as well, but they also asked why he couldn't remake a show or movie that was originally cast with black actors.i thought their best example was this-
"how would you feel if doris roberts and peter boyle remade the jeffersons?"my response was that it would look pretty stupid, and rather petty.they agreed, and said that they thought black actors portraying originally white characters was also stupid, and rather petty.now,i admit, this may have ALOT to do with the fact that neither likes cedric, nor do they like broad stereotypes of any kind...

Does skin colour or race really matter? It doesn't mean s**t to me, if its remakes, as long as its not sequels and people randomly change colour. Doens't matter what colour people are, as long as it's ok either way. If I had my way there wouldn't be "all" anything casts, because we're not different or separate groups of people.

WHAT! Yet another "Jim Carrey free Jim Carrey sequel" to add to the collection. Augh. Why! Dumb & Dumberer was decent, but, you can't have Ace Ventura if you don't have Jim Carrey! Yeesh.

Just how many "AMERICAN PIES" are they going to inflict on us? It was funny at first now it's just milking it.

Bob Saget, Eugene Levy and Cheri Oteri made that movie worth watching.  It was bad.

I've been saying the same thing.  Someone mentioned in another thread about how it's kinda like the National Lampoon series or something like that, just spinning off.  Either way, eh.  I liked Band Camp.  Beyond that, eh.
