Dr_Malavaqua

My latest precious things from the local shop, read'em and weep:(I know I did when I got the package from Amazon )

The Fall of the House of Usher /The Pit and the Pendulum

King Kong Vs Godzilla/King Kong Escapes
Well.. they were better than I though especially KK Escapes(you just gotta love Dr Who! Things I learned from him: As a mad scientist you don't get free dental.)

Riki-Oh - The Story of Ricky

Gojira / Godzilla Deluxe Collector's Edition
I've always wanted to see this..ever since I understood that there are 2 versions. And YES the original is by far the best, and a great movie IMHO!   Regarding the criticism of the DVD pack: I am not so bothered about the scruffy quality of the print and I had no problem reading the subtitles.

Frankenstein Conquers the World / Frankenstein Vs. Baragon
Favourite line in the movie, random professor describing Frankenstein (in a serious voice): "He's a white boy."  :teddyr:

Icons of Horror Collection - Sam Katzman (The Giant Claw / Creature with the Atom Brain / Zombies of Mora Tau / The Werewolf)
Once again, thanks a lot Andrew!! Haven't seen 'Zombies of Mora Tau' yet, but the rest are great.

Rymdinvasion i Lappland(Not Amazon)
This is the original Swedish title of: Terror in the Midnight Sun/Invasion of the Animal People. A Swedish equivalent to Plan 9 From Outer Space, this was my first b-movie ever. Shot in Abisko, located north of the arctic circle in Sweden - close to my home town.(go Gällivare!)

The Fly Collection (The Fly [1958] / Return Of The Fly [1959] / The Curse Of The Fly [1965])

The Fly [1986](Two-Disc Collector's Edition)

The Addams Family / Addams Family Values

Vincent Price: MGM Scream Legends Collection (The Abominable Dr. Phibes / Tales of Terror / Twice Told Tales / Theater of Blood / Madhouse / Witchfinder General / Dr. Phibes rises again)
Mr Price kicks(still) ass!

Gorilla at Large/Mystery on Monster Island
MOMI was actually so bad, in a bad way, that it was fascinating. Overacting, bad script, bad effects and a bad ending...stay away from this piece of work!

Dragon: the Bruce Lee Story - 2 Disc Collectors Edition (Not Amazon)
"...and there was much rejoicing!"

Doc Daneeka

Since I've been gone:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 (The GRUESOME Edition )
The Hills have Eyes '77 (So THIS is that big controversial movie that everyone cut to death and banned?!? ...Is it STILL cut to death or are people just sensitive?)
Scarecrow (Beats the hell out of it's first sequel, though does tend to get a bit ...CORNY!!!)
Les Vampires (Irma Vep is the screen's first liberated woman? She goes throughout the film becoming the obediant servant of whoever happens to be head vampire!)

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Ok First Post,

Again been a fan of this site for YEARS since I was in high school (almost done university now) and glad to see this site is still going strong.

I recently was gifted by a friend who knows my affinity for bad movies with "Ninja Squad" by Godfrey Ho. He apparently got it for 25 cents at a bookstore that was going out of business and I'm going to watch it tonight.

I hope to add my own reviews soon as I have watched literally hundreds of bad movies (mainly martial arts, but also a fair bit of sci-fi/horror) and have so many reviews I'd love to do in the same style as this site with memorable lines/clips/goofs/and random acts of _______ :)

Welcome to the forum, and thank you!  The info online for "Ninja Squad" makes it seem like a movie that will make you laugh and snore.  One of those "crazy" martial arts films that has its moments, but also has long, very boring stretches.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I finally got my hands on the Post-Apocalyptic Triple Feature from Shriek Show. Immensely pleased with that one. And Phantasm III, also.

Gotten a few too many things recently, but most were really good deals.

Oldies.com has a lot of out of print (and non-out of print) DVDs for $6.98, so I ordered Comedy of Terrors/The Raven and The Angry Red Planet.  They've got a lot of MGM Midnite movies besides those, and lots of other good movies.

Also got 101 Dalmatians, Hellboy: Directors Cut, and the first 3 seasons of the Cosby Show.

Hansie

Tonight I picked up Bubba Ho-Tep at Best Buy. This has got to be one of my favorites! While we were there I also was looking at getting Flight of the Living Dead, but my wife talked me into renting it first. She's still a little weary of letting me buy movies without her, sense I came home with Snakes on a Train (even for a bad movie, that one was BAD).

Yes, finally! This thing reminds me of those Satruday morning scifi shows from when I was a kid, like Ark II, Space Academy and Jason of Star Command -- but without the icky morality.

I ordered it through a local disc shop, but it's available on Amazon and other places, surely.

At my local digs (read: weekend flea market) I copped the following:

DVD League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (WS, $4)
DVD Beverly Hills Cop Triple Pack (I, II, III, all WS, $4)

VHS of The Boogens ($2)

Conrgats! What a score! I've been trying to find that one for ages! That one needs a DVD release, though I doubt it will ever happen.

Tell me about it; this one is going right next to my tapes of Vibes, Surf II, Morgan Stewart's Coming Home and Rad.
