Joanna Newsom, who is about 90% brilliant and 10% sheer annoying.

SLAUGHTER - Stick It To Ya

That album cover was a huge part of my childhood.

When I was but a wee lad, there was a pizza place my parents took me to all the time that had a jukebox. One of albums inside that jukebox was Stick It To Ya. My parents used to give me a small fortune in pocket change and I'd spend almost the entire time we were there standing in front of that jukebox, going back and forth, back and forth, looking at all the albums in there, playing whatever caught my interest. I remember when the Stick It To Ya album caught my eye, I immediately fell in love/lust with the cover model. Looking at her, strapped to that target with knives stuck in all around here, the carnival in the background (I've always loved carnival and sideshow iconography), and that oh-so-sheer white one-piece bathing suit, I think that album cover was probably the cause of my earliest feelings of naughty "hurr, hurr, I likes girls, hurr hurr" pre-pubescent lust, and I can probably blame it for my life-long attraction bondage and sexualized danger as well.

Ironically, not much of a Slaughter fan personally. Lol.

Neither am I really, I got into them through my obsession with The Vinnie Vincent Invasion. "Stick It To Ya" is a crap album barring about 3 songs. That's why I am now listening to:

SLAUGHTER - The Wild Life

This album is Slaughter's finest moment, it's so damn catchy and harder than the debut. Only one bad song too

Rev. Powell

Ray Barretto - Jazz

Nice compilation from my favorite Latin jazz bandleader.

Sample: EspĂritu Libre
