You did notice she can't sing...?  I mean, not a note.  :tongueout:

I've always thought that she was a good singer.  She doesn't have the strongest voice but she can carry a melody quite well for the type of material she was doing during her heyday.

Yeh, she can carry a tune... in a knapsack.     Okay, I like a number of her records.  But then again, I like a lot of CHER's records and she can't sing either.  Not a note.
I've often commented that I really enjoy non-singers singing.

Boredoms - Super Roots 7

The Church - Sometime Anywhere -- I've been addicted to The Church lately.  They released a new album a couple of months ago (though not recently recorded), a soundtrack for a novel.  They've just released a new EP and single in Australia and I've ordered both, and they have a new album coming out that's sort of already available in a limited release; it's sold at some recent shows and on their website, but it's getting a full Aussie release in April and US release in May.  It's a good time to be a Church fan!

The Coffee Hounds EP and Pangaea single are available to purchase via download at Second Motion (you can simply listen to the tune Pangaea for free, though):

My listening last week:

Schickele: String Quartet No. 1 "American Dreams", Quintet No. 1 for Piano and Strings & String Quartet No. 5 "A Year In the Country," by Audubon String Quartet

Peter Shickele's better known for his comic "P.D.Q. Bach" persona, and his serious compositions get neglected.  The "American Dreams" quartet is really fine, influenced by Copeland, folk and jazz.
Sample: String Quartet No. 1 "American Dreams": IV. Dance Music

"Schoenberg / Webern / Zemlinsky: Music from Vienna 1" by The Brodsky Quartet

"Conrado del Campo. Cuartetos" by the The Brodsky Quartet

Also, some tracks from the soiundtrack of the Bollywood movie "Agar Tum Na Hote."  Not sure that Indian pop music is for me, but the voices of Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar are divine.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...
