I play a bit of guitar (mostly self-taught) and got GRADE 2 on piano, ages ago though, the only thing I remembered how to play is Scott Joplin 'The Entertainer' (probably a dumbed-down version, I'm guessing)

how about you guys then?

I've made a mistake with the poll I've made it one vote per user. If you happen to play 2 or more instruments, click on the one you're most adept at, and tell us about any others you play in the thread , or something like that

I play mostly Guitar and Drums. I know how to play the Trombone but haven't played much since High School. Looking forward to learning how to play the piano soon.

forgot to put 'drums' in the poll! but then again , is it a instrument? (long boring debate ensues...)

Piano (classical). I've tried to teach myself classical guitar. At one point I sort of had a repertoire of about 3 songs. By now, after years of practice (ha) it's up to... 2 songs. Or maybe one and a half.

Guitar sure looks pretty gathering dust in that stand in the living room, though.

I play electric bass.  I'm told I sound more jazzy than rock or metal.

Get it out, dust it off and have a good old fiddle with it IMO (I'm talking about the guitar, clearly)

I know I can't play guitar, clarinet, trumpet, keyboards or harmonica.  I haven't tried the rest of 'em, so I don't know for sure, but I assume I can't play them either.

I've been playing guitar (self taught) for nearly 20 years. I'm not half as good as I should be. I used to take piano lessons when I was a kid, but I gave it up 'cause I just couldn't read music for the life of me. I also have a little Boss DR-5 workstation/drum machine that I use to make little rudimentary compositions.

co-sign this statement... pretty much the same here. I should be way better on guitar than I actually am...

Let's see: I play guitar, euphonium, tuba, trumpet, recorder, piano (very little), drums (just like a white boy), and probably a couple of other things. . . all at an extremely amateur level. I'm probably most proficient at euphonium (tenor tuba), followed by guitar. But I basically stopped practicing years ago; now I just play to have fun. I recently got enough of a lip back to play my euph in church and at Tuba Christmas (a gathering of low brass players who play Christmas carols at various places. At Christmas, not in April).

flackbait

I played tuba for four years in school so I probably can still play the sucker pretty good.

Newt

Piano mostly.   I was lucky enough to have a piano teacher who realized I was not all that 'into' pursuing Conservatory testing so she had me playing from a book of pop tunes.  Smart lady: it certainly motivated me to practice, and I can still sit down and work out songs by ear.   Not that the results are polished enough for anybody but family to hear...

Also self-taught on guitar which I play just for the fun of it (and not often enough) and the recorder.  Accompaniment for sing-a-longs type of thing.  :tongueout:
