Battlefield Earth screenwriter apologizes for Worst Movie of the Decade

J.D. Shapiro, who wrote the first-draft screenplay for the film, recently accepted the Razzie for Worst Movie of the Decade and in this New York Post article, apologizes to anyone who saw it.

Battlefield Earth wasn't bad at all.  Batman Begins and TDK, just to name two, were much worse.

  I got nothing, that statement sort of speaks for itself.   

That's nice that he apologized.  Because of him, people were driven insane by the sheer amount of stupidity that movie had to offer.  Though, making The Worst Movie of the Decade is an accomplishment to be proud.  Now people will remember your work for a long time to come!

I maintain that every problem Battlefield Earth had, the Nolan Batman movies had worse.  Bad plots, bad acting, bad camera work, it's all there.

That's one of my favorite things about bad movies - the people who make them (sometimes) have a sense of humor and aren't egotists.  I'd much rather watch junk made by this guy than watch equally bad, or worse crap made by someone who honestly believes they're brilliant 

And once again, I've seen stuff so bad that it really makes Battlefield Earth look pretty good in comparison.  Quantum of Solace quite simply blows this thing out of the water.

I don't understand why Battlefield Earth should have won the  Worst Movie of the Decade- Daniel - Der Zauberer should had won it. It's number two on the Bottom 100 for crying out loud!
