You know what I always thought was weird?  Women who wear shorts along with a jacket and/or long sleeved shirts.  I mean, what is up with that?  Do women have some kind of biochemistry where they get cold in the arms/chest area but NOT in the legs?

Shoot, was hoping either Paquita, Newt, Paula or one of our other resident females could explain this to me...

OK BTM, I'll try.

It's about the 'look'.  Appearance often takes priority over practicality or comfort.  The jacket-and-shorts (or 'short suit') really isn't any different than a short skirt with a jacket.  And short sleeves are less formal: so we have a requirement for long sleeves and yet a shorter skirt (within reason) is OK as work attire.  Then there is the whole bare legs/panty hose issue...

In informal/casual situations, all I can say is that a female in shorts wearing a jacket or a long-sleeved sweater or shirt...well, it's the all-important look again.   Exposed and yet not quite.  She can show off her legs and look cuddled a coat.  There's a message there.

Lots of people feel fine temperature-wise as long as their trunk or upper body is covered.  The legs seem to be less sensitive to the cold.  My husband will go out (briefly) in shorts with a sweater or jacket in cooler weather - looks totally silly to me, but there he is.

But just to confuse things: yes, women often do not feel the cold the same as men do.  More subcutaneous body fat (that's under the skin - tends to insulate a bit).  Which is why our muscles do not show as much definition as easily.  Makes us rounder and softer-looking.  All over.

And we are so glad you do!! Vive la difference!

I will add to Newt's quite accurate explanation - On especially hot days in summer, it's great to go out with very little clothing.. until you get into a car or building with the A/C on high.  Personally, I need a blanket or a sweater after about 30 seconds of being blasted with arctic air.

You can get them back by showing them 100 pictures of the baby, all taken from pretty much the same angle.

I tell everyone who calls to join Facebook.  I update frequently there.  I kind of feel like having my voice mail message say, "Hi this is Mark...babys fine, moms fine, all other calls leave a message".  Hey...thats an idea I need to go work on.

When I was getting dinner ready I noticed something.  Walmart can corn (Great Value Brand) has a label written in both English and Spanish.  I then checked the cabinet and there were also a few other cans of different canned foods with labels written in both languages too.

Then I looked at some of my cleaning supplies ... furnture polish, glass cleaner and noticed they are only written in English.

Hmmm .......

Thats awesome.  Aside blowing up the ground they grow in with fireworks, looking/finding them is a huge hobby of mine too.   :teddyr:

Side note, news stories are flooding RI about fireworks and how the fire depts are concerned about the public not knowing what is legal or not.  However, I'll be damned if I can find one damn article on what is legal or not.  Unreal man...

Darksider and Paquita -

I also love finding 4-leaf clovers!  I have 4 or 5 in a small bag, but they're pretty much just dust now.
