Settling on 'three great party records' is going to take some doing (so much depends on the type of party, doesn't it), so it may be a while before I get it together for posting.  IOW: if I don't reply for a bit, it does not mean I am ignoring you.   :tongueout:

Well, you're sweet; I do own those 2 on vinyl, but hardly ever listen to them - anymore. :teddyr:
Funky Favorites, Funny Bone Favorites and ELVIRA Haunted Hits would work best for a Halloween party...

I've been to very few parties, but here are my 3 picks:

For my purposes I'm assuming the party is very casual and very friendly yet not very wild.

For the beginning:

Out of the Blue - Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)  (To get everybody in a good mood)

The Beatles (White Album) - The Beatles (I feel this album has plenty of songs with enough variety to keep the party going, without becoming monotonous.)

Big Bam Boom - Hall and Oates (When the party starts pleasantly winding down)

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley

The Stranger by Billy Joel

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John.

And yes...I've been to a party where all three were played.  Great evening.

For a very relaxed, totally non-wild, and cheery party:

To start things off:

Greatest Hits - Lovin' Spoonful

For an upbeat middle of the party:

Songs from the Wood - Jethro Tull

To end the party on a relaxing note:

The Last Waltz - The Band

It would be my kind of party! Also, I was thinking my albums would be good for an event which was a party celebrating something in particular. Maybe something in which the party is really more of a fun gathering.

I was thinking of a HALLOWEEN party at the top of this topic page 2.  I getcha; don't you misunderstand me.   :tongueout:

Mind you, I'm not really doing 'themed' parties...just stuff I normally play at parties...
