Putting aside all religious, political and idealogical differences, what are you thankful for this year?

For me, its finally getting to make movies, having good friends and making new ones, and getting through the year intact.

My God and my family, first and foremost.
A great new boss at work, and a job I truly enjoy, even on the worst days.
Cheesy B-movies that make me laugh and groan at the same time.
Good friends and artifact hunting partners.
Lotsa arrowheads that I found this year.
Internet forums where I can talk about anything and everything with people from all walks of life.

That my Gran Turismo 5 video game is arriving today!

My first house I purchased this summer, my giant tv, my movies and games.
Oh, and my family too.  And the food they're bringing.  :teddyr:

Artifact hunting?!?!  I used to do that years back when I lived in Asbury, NJ. I lived along the Muscenetcong river ( the  river banks were about 40 feet from my house) and our cornfields and riverbanks were loaded with Lenni Lenape spear and arrow tips.

I have beautiful Eastern Woodland spear tip (with typical Eastern Woodland shouldered notches) and it's made of red flint. Found it in my mom's garden back in '75 when we broke ground for my mom's garden.

Merrill Creek, NJ-loads of land overturned and plowed for a dam had seen us hunting on private property, going thru tons of dirt with a sifter and going thru the yet un-dozed houses for antiques. We found loads of spear and arrow tips, and a few old coins and such.

You're a man after my own heart, Indy. And aside from being glad for another holiday with family and friends, I'm thankful that there are fellow history lovers like you still looking for things that came before us.  Good luck in your hunts!

My uncle Bob passed away about this time last year, so it's a mixed blessing, but he left my mom enough to help me out with the deposit on my first house.

Gonna be spending the day tomorrow trying to get the last of my stuff outa my apartment.
I sure hope my dad didn't throw out my autographed pic of Taaffe O'Connell.

I am thankful for my faith in God, my husband, all my family, all the good things that have happened during the past year.  And even the not so good things. ...I believe that when things are tough, it only makes you stronger.

Hold onto your dreams ....

I'm thankful for you lot for keeping me company when I'm lonely and for keeping my sanity when I think I'm gonna lose it.

Sorry bout your uncle but I hope the house works out great for you.  Me, I especially like the fact that I can talk or play music as loud as I want and not annoy neighbors.  :teddyr:

Hear, hear!

Totally agree with ya'. I can't go into detail about my recent issues, but let's just say it was a case of getting up and back in the ring, or sitting still and drowning in the water.

The gray I have accumulated over the past few years (at the tender age of 46) and the callouses on every part of my hands is testament to the fight to get everything in my life back on track.
