Nerd moment:

How much does Johnny make exactly? I know bizarre but he is paying for: his apartment, Denny's apartment, Denny's tuition, some wedding expenses and doesn't seem to ever notice any hardship for his finances. Damn, I want his job.
Ah, the good old days.

I'm not sure if you want Johnny's job. It's never mentioned once in the movie what he specifically does for the bank.

I was hoping it would be something along a sales line. Loan officer or something. However, I could use the paying for all that with no concerns. I've been lurking on eBay wishing I had some extra disposable income. Why are Japanese import games so pricey?

Back on point though.

Johnny: "Denny two's company, three's a crowd."
Denny: "I get it. You two want to be alone."
Johnny: "That's the idea."

Ah, the good old days.

So who was Denny anyways? A random neighborhood kid who saw Johnny and Lisa as really odd messed up parental figures?

Hard to say but apparently Johnny met him and took a liking to him and offers support as a friend for one as well as paying for an apartment and his tuition. It isn't touched on much but listen to conversations between Lisa and her mother and you get a little bit of the picture. However, speaking of Denny, does he look college aged? He looks more like he is just starting high school. Is it just me that thinks that?

Denny looks like a high school freshmen to me.

Denny was simply there to further establish Johnny's Altruistic nature, the man has no flaws. Even the Florist's dog loves him! How could Lisa betray him?

Another favorite quote (besides the one in my signature):

Lisa: Did you get your promotion?
Johnny: No.
Lisa: You didn't get it, did you?

You also gotta love that Lisa's mother announces she has breast cancer, Lisa says "it'll be alright", and then no mention is made of it again in the ENTIRE MOVIE. Never once becomes a plot point again, nor does she show any signs that it has affected anything.

Also, the sex scenes are amazing. First, you've got the unbearably cheesy songs playing during them ("You are my rose, you are my rose, you are my rose") that were co-written by Tommy. Then, you have the fact that the writer/director/star chose to focus the camera much more on his own cratered, naked self than the girl (not a common choice in movies, especially when the guy is the director as well). And, the fact that you have to wonder where the heck he is aiming with his thrusts?!?!?

On a related note, at the Q & A I attended with Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sistero (Mark), I asked Tommy the question "With Valentine's Day approaching, what advice would you give to a man on the quickest way to a woman's belly button?" Greg found it pretty humorous, but Tommy didn't seem to get it...
Check out my movie reviews and articles at: www.cinedump.com

Or, don\\\'t check them out - see if I care. You\\\'re not my real mom anyway. Unless, you are. In which case, whatever, I\\\'ll do what I want. It\\\'s my hot body. Y\\\'all don\\\'t know me.

"So, how's your sex life?" - Johnny

easily my favorite line in the movie
