Smiley Smile has its moments (Heroes and Villains, Good Vibrations, Wind Chimes), but yeah, it's mostly half-baked goofiness or inferior takes of Smile material.

I had Smiley Smile on vinyl, but now I remember why I never listened to it... I did not have Wild Honey, which is why I bought this compilation CD (used - my favorite).

I really like Wild Honey. Many years ago, I was into later BEACH BOYS and of course also loved their classic albums and hits... I liked Sunflower and Surf's Up long before it was fashionable... Smiley Smile is RUBBISH and annoying; now I remember why I did not like it though I was into later BEACH BOYS for a moment there... I even had 20/20...

Pilgermann, you point out some even great moments: the album that should have been. I consider Pet Sounds definitely one of my top 5 all-time favorite records...

I'm listening to both again.
