The previous post about what you don't know got me thinking..what would you like to know?
My list:
1. WhoopA$$- I know some martial arts, but would like more and to be proficient in em. Escrima, Muay Thai, maybe even knives.
2. Languages- I'd like to be proficient in a few.
3. Writing- I'd like to be an excellent written communicator.  No comments on my typing please.
4. Muscial instrument- I can't play anything and have no knack.
5. Chef Skills- I can cook, but I'd like knife skills, and some real technique knowledge on cooking.

Psycho Circus

Sign Language and I wouldn't mind being a black belt in some form of martial art.

Flick James

I'll sign on with the martial arts. I wish I had the physical and mental discipline to be a master at it. It's one of those things that can only be a benefit.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

I'd like for my wife and I to take some classes in massage.  Some friends of ours did it, I can only imagine it would be...fun  :teddyr:

Would also like to take some singing lessons.  Preferably some computer based thing, to save me the embarrassment and the teacher the agony.

A few things that I'd like to learn:

I like to work with acrylics, but would like to try watercolor painting.

Since I love gardening, I would like to learn something like Garden Design, maybe even take courses to eventually become a Master Gardener.

As Circus mentioned, Sign Language would also be interesting.

I'd love to be able to play the piano but nowaday if something isn't work related, I generally don't have time to learn it.

I have thought I would like to take up fencing.   (Not the keep-the-horses-in kind, I can do that!)  I'm probably too old for it now - reflexes have slowed down too much.

I remember that as a youngster I always wanted to do some rock climbing.  Then I found out (the hard way) that I am not so good with heights. Can't climb when you are frozen to the spot!   :bluesad:

I would like to do the following:

1. Take up martial arts.
2. Adopt a child.
3. Learn to play a musical instrument.
4. Learn to fly an aeroplane.

Less seriously:

1. Take lessons in how to cross-dress correctly. I have that Joan Collins thing going on.  :buggedout:

I'm all for really learning how to cook.  I do pretty well with a grill, and cook an awesome breakfast with scratch-made pancakes.  There's a lot more to culinary art than grilling and breakfast.

Would like to learn to play the piano, Billy Joel style.

I wish I knew more about cars. I know how to change a tire, I know where the gas goes in, and that's about it. I'd like to learn how to change oil and do other maintenance/minor repairs myself.

Some sort of awesome martial art, too.
Drive a car.
Probably forgetting a lot.

Can't be arsed putting any time into either, though.

Newt you may be too old to compete but you're never too old to learn. I started kung-fu last year right before I turned 45. I can't keep up with the young up-and-comers in a competition setting but I'm still getting a lot out of it, including enjoyment. And as I'm learning, once you get the basic skills down you acutally can sometimes substitute trickery and skill for raw speed and power. I say go for it.

Myself, I'd like to juggle, learn an instrument , draw and fly a plane. I also wouldn't mind having some decent "handy man" skills. I'm lucky I can change a light bulb without electrocuting myself.
