I'm always hunting for the most obscure 70s and 80s horror movies. Can any of you give me some suggestions?

the 1977 DEMON LOVER (aka the DEVIL MASTER) directed by the genuis who gave us HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN with Rowdy Roddy Piper-Donald Jackson.

I bought a vhs tape of this at a flea market under the title the DEVIL MASTER. It's pretty bad-but fun.
Gunnar Hansen-of Leatherface fame-has a small role as a professor.
Supposedly,Ted Nugent was to star-but backed out.
Made right here in good old Michigan!

The most obscure films are probably going to be very limited, often regional releases.  There are tons of them out there.  I discover one of them from time to time.  I'll suggest "Forever Evil" and "Bog" though both have seen limited DVD releases, and so are not as obscure as they once were.

"Terror in the Swamp" should be fairly obscure, and it's a terrible monster horror movie.  Perhaps "Fright Show" as well?

Check out some of those multiple movie sets, 4-packs, 10 packs, even the Mill Creek 50 movie sets.  A lot of obscure movies aren't going to get their own DVD release due to lack of interest, but they're profitable to release as part of a set.

Just do a search on "horror pack" over at Amazon, then select the DVD category.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

HOMEBODIES (1974)

I like the offer of "a free prune to anyone while they last.".  :bouncegiggle:

A group of senior citizens get together to stop a building project from tearing down there homes-by killing the planners and workers.
A very black comedy/horror movie I seen on the first half of a double bill with PSYCHIC KILLER.
Unfortunatly-it has no dvd release. Meaybe you can find an old vhs on ebay-or you can watch it on youtube.

Here's a spanish language trailer-it will at least give you the feel of the film-

The Burgomaster

Wow . . . so many choices.  Here are only a few.  I'm not saying they're all good, but you should probably see them anyway:

* INVASION OF THE BLOOD FARMERS
* BARN OF THE NAKED DEAD
* I DRINK YOUR BLOOD
* DR. DEATH: SEEKER OF SOULS
* THE BRAIN LEECHES (one of the worst movies ever . . . impossibly cheap . . . very obscure)
* THE ALIEN DEAD
* SHRIEK OF THE MUTILATED

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

     The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

I mentioned this film earlier-here's the full poop-

Jim Hutton (Tim Hutton's dad,and Ellery Queen on tv) is a basket case who is taught how to kill folks with the power of his mind by a voodoo guy while he does time in the funny farm.On his release-he kills people who he believes let his mother die in the hospital.

Flick James

House (1977): Japanese bizarro supernatural horror. I saw about 30 minutes of it at somebody's house when I was doing a quick stop-by, and I've been meaning to watch the whole thing ever since. I read that the special effects were made unrealistic on purpose, and that matches my memory pretty well.

Suggestions I hope I'm not repeating:
VENGEANCE IS MINE (1974): Great revenge flick with terrific acting by Ernest Borgnine, who plays a farmer besieged by escape convicts.
FRIGHTMARE (1974): Wonderful British chiller about a cannibalistic granny, played superbly by Sheila Keith.
BAY OF BLOOD (1971): Gory tale of greed involving several people in pursuit of estate property.  One of the best giallos.
I'm sure I could think of a lot more but I better get back to work.

Double Exposure is a largely forgotten slasher movie from the '80s. It's unique for sure.

I tried to post a picture, but I'm new. Imagine HANDS holding a CAMERA. Yes. Whoo.
