Comedic actor Fred Willard was arrested by Hollywood under-cover vice squad officers in an adult movie theater Wednesday night, FOX News confirms.

Willard was charged with lewd conduct during a routine inspection by the officers of the adult movie house called the Tiki Theatre.

The arrested was made at 8:50pm Wednesday night after officers observed Willard engaged in lewd conduct.   

He was transported to the Hollywood LAPD station where he was booked and released...

Surely, the last sentence of that article must be someone's bad idea of a joke...

"According to TMZ, Willard is also 'rumored' to be in pre-production for a movie entitled 'The Yank.'"

I don't think it was that bad off a joke. Eventually it started to rub off on me.

He was charged with lewd conduct. Does that mean he wasn't doing the same thing Pee Wee did to get indecent exposure, or just that he was more discreet about it?

Seems a little unfair to Willard that the public is told where he was and what he was charged with, and parallels to Paul Reubens are drawn, but we aren't told what exactly he's been accused of doing. We're led to the conclusion that he was whacking his weasel in the movie theatre, but we aren't actually given that information.

Of course, I've never understood why people go to a theatre to watch a dirty movie anyway. To me, the whole point of porno is to facilitate some sort of activity, whether alone or with a partner. Watching it in a public venue seems like torture to me.

They did say he was "pulling a Pee Wee."  Was Reubens in the theater with him?  Or was it someone else's Pee Wee? :bouncegiggle:

This reminds me of a story about Winston Churchill.

To relieve the stress of the war, the PM would occasionally read interesting news stories from the London Times out loud to his staff.  He had just finished reading about an elderly gentleman, 72 years old, who had been arrested in one of London's parks for exposing himself to young girls in subzero weather.  Churchill took a long puff on his cigar and said:  "Over seventy and below zero!!
