It's probably a good thing Punk left when he did. He really did not look well at that time. Now, he looks great and seems in much better spirits.

WWE today is not the WWF of yesteryear. It really isn't. It's a much more corporate entity and personally I find it a whole lot less entertaining. That said, WWE should really take care of their talent better especially as it's really not the same as it was back in the day. I think there's too many young guys brought up too early now before they really know what they're doing. They didn't go through the territories like guys in the 70s and 80s who paid their dues in places like Florida, Georgia, Central States, California, Oregon, Texas,  Memphis, Calgary and elsewhere before getting a break with the WWF, AWA or NWA. Everything is so scripted out now or just thrown together at the last minute it actually isn't too far removed from the end era of WCW. I really believe the traditional booking of pro wrestling by actual wrestlers who understand the actual psychology of wrestling works far, far better. Now we just get goofy comedy acts and overly forced upon us and oft confusing storylines, many of which make little sense. Recently to me, WWE has become completely un-watchable to the point I've decided I will no longer watch it unless I hear of improvement and I've watched it for about pretty close to 35 years. (Watching it now just gets me angry so I've decided it's time to take a serious break.) From the late 1970s to 2014. In that period of time, my personal favourite periods were the 1980s, then the 1990s, then the 1970s, then the early 2000s up to around 2005. After that, my interest level has been much more sporadic on and off but I still generally watched or at least had it on in the background. I was also a fan of the AWA, the NWA, Stampede Wrestling, Canadian International Wrestling, the UWF and pretty much any other wrestling I could find in the 80s. In the 90s, I watched WCW when I could and during the Monday Night wars, I'd watch Raw live and then the replay of Nitro which meant I had a lot of Tuesday mornings where I didn't get enough sleep. I didn't see them live but also watched in reruns or through tape trading footage of Global, Herb Abrams UWF, Memphis, WCCW, and ECW to name but a few. I've seen footage from Florida, Georgia, the Mid-Atlantic, Texas and elsewhere during the territory days. I've seen more wrestling than most people have seen movies, TV shows, and probably anything else although I've seen an awful lot of those as well. About the only wrestling I haven't seen a ton of footage of is probably Big Time Wrestling from Detroit (I've seen a little), Ohio's IWA, the Bruiser's WWA, NWF,  Poffo's ICW (again a little), Central States, Pacific Northwest (I have seen some), Puerto Rico's WWC (again I've seen a bit), and perhaps most surprising Atlantic Grand Prix.

Been watching some great old Piper's Pit footage of Rowdy Roddy Piper. He was so good and so edgy back in his time. He really pushed the boundaries and it really got him tons of heel heat. He was very good at playing the ignorant bigot (or perhaps it was just pretending to be that to really mess with guys and push their buttons, whatever it worked) which landed him in heavy duty feuds with Rocky Johnson and Jimmy Snuka and of course he took things up to a whole 'nother level with the coconut attack on Snuka. Piper was a huge part of the mid-1980s WWF success and was a player in the eventual Rock 'n Wrestling era and the build to the first Wrestlemania. Piper was so incredibly hot as a heel at that time, people really wanted to see him get his clock cleaned. I don't think any wrestler today can generate that type of heat so naturally, so organically. Piper was never the chicken heel, he stood up to guys just waiting to sucker punch them.

So Sting made his WWE tonight at Survivor Series.

I thought I'd never see the day he stepped foot in a WWE ring.

Awesome! I hope it's Sting vs Undertaker next WM...

Looks more like Sting vs. Triple H right now but who knows?...I've heard rumors Taker might not be well enough to appear at the next Wrestlemania but of course, we hear that usually every year. Me, I've stopped watching WWE completely now until it actually gets good again if it ever does...

Really..wow? And Del Rio is in Lucha Underground, it he not? WWE, guess what, there's competition out there. MMA is where it's really at these days. Lucha Undergound, TNA, ROH, PWG, Japanese wrestling...it's all better than WWE. Why are has-beens like Kane, Big Show, and Mark Henry even in wrestling anymore? Those guys should all be retired. Cena sucks. Ryback sucks. Rusev sucks. And pretty much anyone who's any good is buried in short order by being jobbed out to Cena.
