I saw this about 6 months ago and thought it was quite possibly one of the most disturbing and unplesent films i've ever sat through. beautiful cinematography and direction and apparently it's all grounded in real science covering the detonation of a nuclear warhead. when it sas first broadcast in the UK it was accompanied by a documentary (QED: how to survive a nuclear attack and a debate that made up what must have been one of the most depressing nights british television had ever experienced up to that point. there was also a Panorama Documentary more tightly linked to this that came out around the same time as well...rather fittingly as we seem on the brink of apocalyptic anihilation of late a Bluray has been annouced of this for January 2018 from a 2K scan which im very interested in seeing the results for.

I remember this causing a bit of a stir when it came out. Still remembered today as one of the scariest things ever to be shown on UK TV.

Especially the ending where the young lady is in labour, gives birth and  :buggedout: :buggedout:
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

voltron

VERY disturbing movie and it won't leave you for days. I like it where it shows the older woman with a dead baby in her arms.  :buggedout:

The Burgomaster

I saw it in my FUNDAMENTALS OF COMMUNICATION class in college. What a memorable experience.

Now THATS a class I'd like to have been a fly on the wall for! xD I've only ever spoken to people who've seen it either on there own or in pairs...I've never seen someone expose mass groups of people to it! xD

Last night after a little bit too much of the old ale Drunk me bought sober me a present...a VHS copy of Threads to go with my new refurbed VCR...I guess he was thinking it adds authenticity to the experience because what better way to enjoy a film set in the early 80s about nuclear annihilation than by watching it on a 25 year+ old Gnarled and torn up VHS tape

He also put a bid in for The Texas Chainsaw massacre (I assume for the same reasons as threads)
Drunk me is so considerate...even if he doesnt necissarily have the funds to do what he did :drink:

If it makes you feel any better, me and my wife have both bid against each other on ebay unknowingly.

And you have my sympathy for buying these things drunk. I once had to confess to Kristi I'd spent £100 playing an online wargame in one night, but the next day I blocked that page.

xD fairly accurate; if your in a really good mood and want to dampen it down a bit There is a full version of this uploaded to one of the many video sharing sites out there (I wont link to it but if you check the top 3-4 video sharing sites you cant miss it) Its also recently had a region free bluray release and if your in the UK theres also a dirt cheap DVD copy available...I highly reccommend you see it at least once...if only for the scientific accuracy and genuine horror...though if it were up to me it would be shown in schools xD
