Trying to decide what my favourite Dennis Hopper film is. I suspect it would be one I haven't actually seen yet (Blue Velvet).
I think I like EASY RIDER best.

BLUE VELVET is his best performance.

He did a good job directing EASY RIDER, but I found his dopey character less interesting than both Fonda and Nicholson.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I expect you're right, though I disliked BLUE VELVET when I saw it once 'bout 30 years ago.  Only recently did I start to like EASY RIDER which I used to find boring.
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

The thing I always find with Hopper (and Jack Nicholson) is that they mostly seem to just more or less play themselves and their best work seems to be when a director just lets them play their natural crazy side.

Nicolas Cage - ADAPTATION.

Though he was great in LEAVING LAS VEGAS, too, and VAMPIRE'S KISS is his best "crazy" performance.

Anyone have and beliefs on what John Agar's best movie was?
The doctor that circumcised Trump threw away the wrong piece.

The BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS (1957)
(which is kinda an anagram for "arouse", for what it's worth! Or maybe not! It might be all an anagram in my head.)
But the brain arouses Agar- and his dog! To do crazy s**t! Why am I explaining this movie?

Tim Allen: Galaxy Quest. I'm no fan of Tim Allen at all, but here he is way better than he has any right to be.
