I'm reasonably settled now: this place is just very, very cold.

Oh yeah, forgot: I woke up suddenly the other night and forgot that my bed was now higher than normal *BANG*  :buggedout:

why is it so cold trev?

The place is a three room apartment and it's our winter season now.

Well, I renewed my rental contract for another year: I don't know what lies ahead here.

I don't actually know how to feel about this.

I've lived in the same garden flat for twenty years: moved in there in November 1998 and I have been happy there: rent is affordable, it's in a quiet neighbourhood, nice neighbours, etc. Now my landlord is refurbishing the entire house (bit by bit obviously) and he asked me to move over to the other flat which has already been fixed. I cannot describe what a wrench this is to my system: I was actually in tears on Saturday evening.

OK, the flat I'm moving to is bigger, quieter and more secure than the one I'm in now, there's a shower instead of a bath, gas cooker, carport for my car and all that. What it isn't is the home I've lived in for 20 years (although it is the same house). Am I going crazy being so upset at moving although my landlord said they did not want to lose me as I am the best tenant they've ever had?

Advice, guys, please: I feel like I'm going nuts.

I know the feeling. I had to move out of my house after my parents got a divorce and I had to move into a group home.
I've lived in that house for most of my life and leaving it was incredibly depressing. To make it even worse, the people that bought the house
are absolute trash. They're incredibly nasty people that gave my Mom Hell and threw a s**t fit over the washing machine not being included with the purchase of the house.
Mom went back for the last of our furniture that was still in the garage and the c**ts left them out in the rain then told Mom to get off "their" property when she started taking pictures.

I got out of the group home and moved back in with Mom. Dad became a travelling nurse and lives in Texas, but tries to come up here to Minnesota when he can.
Sometimes we have to pass by the old house. They've painted it this hideous baby blue color. It used to be brown and had character. Now it looks generic and fake.
I loved that house so much but now I'd rather see it burn to the f**king ground. They don't deserve it.

One tip for anybody who is moving. Try to set up your bed as early on as possible, so when you're tired it's waiting for you.

Wow. I come here to vent and try to sympathize with someone and you throw revenge karma at me because I called you out for being a bully. Very cool and mature, ER.

I will. I have zero problem with AJ and that wasn't revenge karma. I didn't take AJ's giving me bad karma personally and hope AJ doesn't stay upset about me doing the same. I really only have a gripe with one person here and after venting over the weekend I'm done there. So hopefully good times ahead and good wishes to all.

Trevor- I'ved moved so many times I can't count. Ever since I was a kid. Maybe that's why I still do model kits and watch monster movies. Because I couldn't stay home- so I always try to keep some of home with me. I have a cast iron bank ,a squirell holding a chestnut, that I've had since 1970. I found it in the attic of a old farmhouse we moved into. So I've had it 49 years.
What I'm tying to say is- surround yourself with familiar things- and you'll start to feel at home.

I'm with Ron; I'd moved so many times counting would be difficult.  Fortunately for me, I've been living in my own house for 22 years.

Good; I think most of us would concur.
