Though we never got to see him in person, while we were in Christchurch, New Zealand some years ago, we picked up a booklet called Snippets of Wisdom from the Wizard of Christchurch. One bit was that in nature all the best things are slow to develop, and since men develop more slowly than women, men were therefore better than women.

We had several coat trees and they all fell over at some point. Wall mounted all the way!

Never had a coat tree, but it strikes me as something that would always be in the way.

Wall-mounted. A coat tree whacked me in the head once when I was a kid.

I've had a standing coat tree and it fell down so often we just leaned it up against the wall in the end.  I prefer decorative wall hooks.
