Should I get a flu shot?

Almost certainly! (I only say "almost" because I don't know how things work in S.A.). I haven't had the flu in a decade since I started getting the shot every year and I don't miss it. You should also get the Covid shot, ASAP! (Caveat: if you're getting the COVID shot, you should get it BEFORE the flu shot. They may make you wait if you recently had another vaccine).

I got my first ever flu shot this year, I think it'd be a good idea for you to get one too

On the whole, I'd say more people do impulsive things they regret than fail to act on impulses and then feel remorse over their inaction.

Oh good, I was afraid I would forever be haunted by the unrealized chance I once had to trip my middle-school algebra teacher while he was chaperoning us during an AP field trip to Thomas Merton's grave at Gethsemani.

If you were held accountable in a court of law for every illegality you ever committed, what sentence do you think it would it all add up to? (For a frame of reference, my aunt, a lawyer, once told me the average person would be looking at two years in jail.)

Ok, not a legal expert and some of what I think goes under a heading, might not. Going by the maximum possible tariffs, 14 years and some fines.

I did steal record albums for a short period of time in my teen years, about 10 albums. Was never caught. I stole candy when I was younger, but only once or twice.
One time I helped my gf steal clothes from a boutique. I knew about two theft crimes and lied about it. That's about it.
I guess all combined my punishment would be $500 in fines.

Although it was an unfair allegation and none of us were ever charged, there was an investigation for illegal abduction brought against me and some co-workers of mine several years back, that could have resulted in a twelve year sentence if we had been convicted. It was stupid nonsense, though, that lacked basis in it being a matter for the criminal courts and it defamed us all very unfairly, but the result has been that none of us have ever gone back to the country where the alleged event occurred. Make no mistake, there are political radicals out there who truly hate Americans.

Beyond that, in my domestic life I've lived fairly lawfully and don't think I'd be subject to much gavel-pounding.

I almost always got arrested for every illegal thing I have done, well, selling blotter acid  for a time in the mid 80's may have bought me a couple of years.
