If ever you'd like to read about an amazing life, lived both in wartime and peace, look up Leonard Cheshire.

I just googled the person: wow.

Africa's dwarf mongoose is the only species of mongoose that lives socially. Oddly enough all geese are social, and "mon" means mountain in a dialect of Romanian. Romanians, being humans, are also classified as social, and geese live there! Most Romanians do not know they are connected to Africa's dwarf mongoose or by extension to geese, but as you can see, the link is undeniable.

The unseen interconnectiveness of our world just fascinates me!

I get emails off the local library service. Did a double take when I thought the latest one said "Thousands of dirty magazines now available", but what it really said was "Thousands of digital magazines now available".

Horror movies have vampire bats in Translyvania, yet they only thrive in South America.
Yet you never see horror movies with vampire bats set in South America. Of course DRACULA (1931) had armadillos! And Armadillos live in Texas and wherever.
Somethings going on here, and I demand the whole truth!

Speaking as the board's resident African, I can say I also live socially

Another odd animal connection is that the small rabbit-like hyrax (or dassie as we call them here) is related to the African elephant  :buggedout:

Just wanted to repeat my experience at my theatrical screening of THE BLACK PHONE here in case you don't read the "Recent Theatrical Viewings" thread. This is the extra paragraph I posted on Letterboxed:

Note: I was distracted for the first twenty minutes because a couple of teenagers seated right in front of me were basically having sex in the reclining chair until they got kicked out of the theater. I mean, they kept their clothes on, but they might have slid their pants aside (the girl was wearing leggings). It was highly distracting and they ignored requests from people to stop until a manager came and actually kicked them out. I tried to make my rating reflect the quality of the movie unaffected by the performance of the dry-humping teenagers, but you may want to add or subtract a star if there are no horny young people fornicating at your particular venue.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Good summation, Rev. You know, carnal undertakings in multiplexes must be making a comeback after the presence of security cameras chilled people out for a while, because a month or so ago my daughter, who is thirteen, went to the movies with her cousin and her cousin's friend, and though my daughter didn't say anything about it to me, it got back to me via the grapevine that a "pretty close to everything" incident went on in the same row as her between a couple of teens. Really not cool.

You ever wonder....I mean deep down honestly sometimes wonder....if you might be under demonic influences?

Like when you're driving along on the way to Target, happy as a stinkbug in a henhouse, and some airhead high school girl cuts you off in the parking lot, and you say and do nothing, you let it go, but in your mind you hear her screaming and smell her bleeding out as you stab her over and over and over and over, then finish with a tire iron to her head. I mean ever have that experience?

Or when you go inside the same Target, same trip, and can't find Lava soap on the shelf, and you politely ask the Mjolnir-wearing kid working there if it's been out of stock a while, and he says yes, and you say OK, thanks, but in your mind you envision the CEO of Palmolive who gave the order to stop the supply of Lava burning to death when you've torched his house, like sometimes think about doing to whoever is responsible for canceling Hellblazer comics?

Where do those thoughts come from? Am I truly that petulant and dark in my Id, or did all those times I read Tarot cards and played the recording of those chants to the goddess Kali as a teenager open a portal to Hades in my soul?

Maybe I'm the only one outside a Bob Larson get-together who wonders stuff like that

Anyway, have a nice day and don't cancel any bath products I like....

My godson is coming over in a few to hang out and watch Kenobi with me while my family is away. He and I have always had good times, despite the fact it's almost impossible for me to make myself say his first name.

After watching multiple female stand-up comedian shows, based on how they talk about sex I have come to the conclusion that female comedians know nothing more than the (very) basics about having sex with a man, and have no idea what to do to make it better for him but expect a man to be proficient in all these things for them in return. One, in particular, even seemed to base her entire show around telling the world she isn't very good at it.

You're supposed to just lie there completely still til he's done, right? What's difficult about that?
