I Just paid my water bill, the last of my bills for the month. I have $124 dollars left until September.

I'm tired, sleepy, hungry, thirsty, and I'm sunburned, but you know, it's been an enjoyable day! :-)

Changed some vitamins to get rid of some lower back pain...
It worked, but the arthritis in my left leg came back with a vengeance....
Trying to get the fine tuning right is a nightmare.....

In a few minutes I have to go meet a man whose brother is on death row. (Our meeting has nothing to do with that but it always finds a place in my mind to remember that.)

It bugs me how on old sitcoms people never seem to close doors behind them. (Three's Company was the worst for that.) Actors walk in from outside, leave the door open, yet a moment later the door has mysteriously closed. I think in real life closing doors rattled flimsy set walls...?

You need to look up an old British soap opera called Crossroads.

So, after four years of trying to work with the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services, going from one bureaucratic formality after another, from psyche tests to sending in doctors notes saying that an old stroke & an old back injury wouldn't effect my ability to work, they finally decided last Friday with employment development......

Right after that meeting, I got a terrible pain shooting down my left leg, that quickly got worse, until I couldn't even move, because almost any movement seemed to agitate that leg...

So, today my mom took me to the hospital, & I was diagnosed with sciatica with herniated discs....

I'm on steroids & pain killers until I can see a specialist, but DANG that's discouraging......

A bat was flitting around my house late last night. My 29 year old son running around like a girl was hilarious!
He shoed it out the back door.  :bouncegiggle:

Like a girl?  :bouncegiggle: Dude, we got a bat box on a tree in our woods and my girls got names for some of those winged mice. Darned if I can tell the bats apart myself.
(Oh, I just noticed our giggles bounce in sync.....)

I am listening to a podcast where a guy plays through the Fighting Fantasy books I used to play as a kid. I've only really been listening to the episodes where he plays a book I'm familiar with myself but one thing has struck me. If I wanted to play to lose them, I'd play exactly the same way he does. So far he has only completed one of the books and he had to cheat to even do that.

Actual conversation I had with my husband in the '10s:

Me: I'm thinking of writing a memoir about my past relationships.

Him: Interesting. How would it begin?

Me: "The first time I fell in love I went head over heels. The second time it was just the opposite."

Him: Hmm...

Me: Too much?

Him: Maybe a bit. Besides, it wasn't like that. I was there.

Me: Actually, you weren't.

Him: Damn. So where do I come in?

Me: "Chapter Nine---The Semi-Connected Pretty Boy With The Dad Who Gets Us Into Any Event In The City."

Him: Any chance you'll take up needlepoint instead?
