I did not see anything that won an award
Kubrick, Nolan, Tarantino, Wan, Iñárritu, Scorsese, Chaplin, Abrams, Wes Anderson, Gilliam, Kurosawa, Villeneuve - the elite

I have only seen Top Gun Maverick but I would like to see Everything Everywhere etc.

Everyone everywhere should see EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE.

They can now since literally everyone everywhere has seen Top Gun Maverick.
Is it October yet?

You know me quite well: do you think EEAAO would appeal to me?

Well... I don't know if there's a South Africa connection but with a cast and crew that large there has to be!

That was my impression of the little of it I saw. Like an '80s music video combined with a bad military recruitment film.

I never saw the first one. Couldn't stand the rah-rah air force marketing. Saw the second one and was not very impressed.

Congratulations go out to Vigo the Carpathian for taking home an Oscar.

Successfully continued my streak of not seeing any of the movies nominated for any damn thing. :D

So how was the ceremony this year? Less bloated and preachy than past years? Interesting? Relevant? Enjoyable? I would watch again if I found it more movie-oriented and less a would-be cultural forum, and also if, frankly, I saw more nominated movies. Except the lamentable Babylon I am not sure I saw any this year. Also mightn't a return to fewer nominees per category be a good thing, because it would possibly put merit back in focus? Anyway, any good moments worth seeking out?

I think when Ke Huy Quan won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor there wasn't a dry eye in the house: also when EEAAO won Best Picture, Ke and Harrison Ford hugged each other 😥🤗.

Worst moment: Angela Bassett's reaction to seeing Jamie Lee Curtis win an Oscar instead of her 😳
